Thom. Listen. Alex Jones has some very bizarre ideas. But don't jump around on topics when youre talking with guests. It doesnt make you look good.
You and Alex may agree on the fact that governments lie to citizens. But what the hell was this discussion? Ayn Rand? Glenn Beck? You could have at least read what Jones has said publicly, then challenged him on his statements. But confusing the hell out of Jones and your audience is a terrible tactic, better suited to the teleprompter readers on Fox than on RT.
Anyone who questions a govenment that tells lies is called "birther" and a "deather" or a "9/11 truther" does not get your approval? High level Govenrment officials have stated that OBL has been dead for years. Several sources. Labeling is not a good form of debate or discussion but more like a FOX News ploy. Thom Hartmann has lost credability.
Like many delusional people Alex Jones replaces facts with heresay and speculation. Give some facts or please go away Alex Jones. You know you are hearing BS when you hear "an anonymous person heard some other unnamed person say...". Really now.
And by the way, the format of an interview is: question from the interviewer, answer from the interviewee. Someone should give Jones the memo because he clearly had no idea that Thom was tryin to interview him. His statement at the end that he "aced" Thom shows how out of it he is.

@primarydoc -- exactly. Clearly a "teleprompter reading" ambush attempt. Sure you need to have a plan to make some points, but TH makes no rational argument against AJ's claims other than to say he's a wacky "libertarian".

And I am just asking because I don't understand - are you saying that libertarianism is based on a baby-killer? Does Allan Greenspan know that? I didn't notice anything convoluted or confusing about Thom's interviewing style here. Jones actually thinks the cons and dems are in league together to control everybody? I think Thom was just showcasing Jones' indiscriminate fanaticism for any and every conspiracy theory. And even when Thom extends an olive branch to agree that the government has lied to its people before, Jones refuses to have anything resembling an orthodox political opinion, imputing that that puts him on some higher plane. There was barely an exchange of opinion, yet Jones' felt the need to claim some kind of dialectic triumph.
I follow Thom Hartmann and Alex Jones (less then before). But I gotta say Alex was the most logical. Alex says often that the liberal are acting the same way then a republican when it's thier guy in charge. It's the same thing some republican would say in 2002 or 2003. I'm really dissapointed.
Listen to the Alex Jones show when they interview Amid Gul. A bunch of innocent people got killed dy drones. They gave thier airspace. Now the good people of america are saying F-you Pakistan??
As well, how come they can arrest Khalid Shiek Mohammad but not Ben Laden? Why did they have to kill him? I think a trial would have been perfect. By putting him on trial, I think it would have made the extremist less anxious for revenge. We put on trial high ranking Nazi... I just don't get it.
I personnaly think he was dead and it's all fake but thats my gut instinct and I can't prove it. Put the reaction of the people is scary.
It appears that Hartmann has lowered himself to the tactics of the demagogues. He came fully equipped with the preprinted labels of birthers, truthers, hallucinogenic smoking conspiracy theorists, and deathers essential to creating the prejudices the demagogue needs to ensure that a serious and honest debate and discussion of the real issues never takes place. He establishes a clear intention of discrediting the "deathers" and Alex Jones as lunatics for not believing the official Obama Bin Laden story but loses his focus first by agreeing with Alex Jones that the government has been caught in numerous lies, making incoherent statements like: "911 truthers love Glenn Beck," and incongruous leaps to Ayn Rand and eugenicist banker royalists. Apparently despite the numerous lies the government has been caught in over the years, one has to be a hallucinogenic smoking conspiracy theory loving lunatic deather to not believe this contrived Obama Bin Laden fable. Hartmann is too intelligent to dismiss his references to Truthers loving Beck, Ayn Rand and Royal banker eugenicists as a loss of focus, so it would appear to be a deliberate attempt to divert attention from the real issue when it became clear that Alex Jones had undermined his original intent.
Its a shame that Hartmann continues to carry water for Obama and the democratic party at the expense of his own integrity. By refusing to take a principled stand against the continuity of the neocon agenda, the blatant deception, corruption, lawlessness, and criminal activities of the current democratic administration and, instead, continuing to provide cover and apologize for them, he is complicit in preventing any real change from taking place. He is quickly becoming exactly what he claims to hate: a phony talking head political hack who profits from the false left/right paradigm and the corrupt political system it engenders and who therefore has a vested interest in maitaining the status quo.
Its not too late Thom, but if you continue to carry water for the current administration, it will eventually become too heavy, even for you, it will break the back of what's left of your dignity, and you will eventually drown in it. Take a good look in the mirror Thom and ask yourself: Who am I?
