Paul Ryan - Ayn Rand Utopia with Poor as Feudal Serfs

The only thing we can expect Paul Ryan and Paul Ryan to do - is what they've promised to do on paper - and that's give massive tax cuts - five trillion dollars worth of tax cuts - to rich people like themselves - and give austerity to the rest of us. That will only worsen wealth inequality in America - and thus make it harder and harder for the poor to move up into the Middle Class and aspire for the American Dream. Paul Ryan doesn't give a damn about the poor - he's just a shill for big business who wants to create an Ayn Rand utopia where the wealthy live like Kings - and the middle class and the poor live like feudal serfs

Also discussed: how the Republicans plan to steal the election in Ohio, who the rest of the world wants to win the election and in tonight's "Daily Take" Thom highlights actress Daryl Hannah and what she's doing to stop eminent domain and the Keystone XL Pipeline.

Did Darrell Issa Commit Treason?

For the last two years - the Republican Chairman of the House Government Oversight Committee - this guy, Darrell Issa, a former small-time crook - has been committed to burning down the Obama Presidency. Since day one - he's used his gavel on the committee to obstruct the Obama administration with with investigations and conspiracy theories that you only hear on Fox so-called News - things like Solyndra and Fast and Furious. And now - his commitment to destroy President Obama has led Darrel Issa to - in my opinion - commit treason against the United States of America. Last Friday - Darrell Issa released 166 pages of State Department documents that were classified as "Sensitive" and related to the September 11th attack on our consulate in Benghazi. You see - after failing to burn the President over Solyndra and Fast and Furious - Issa made sure he was going to exploit this tragedy in Libya to its fullest extent. And part of his exploitation is to not only embarrass the administration by revealing everything they knew in Libya before and after the attacks - but also to sabotage the administration's foreign policy in that nation.

The Good, The Bad and the Very Very Ultrafidianously Ugly!

The Good! *Carol Costello* Last week - Costello interviewed the American Family Association's Bryan Fischer - after he attacked a new effort by the Southern Poverty Law Center to promote diversity by encouraging school kids to sit with someone new during lunch on October 30th. After the interview - and after being put in his place by Costello - Fischer took to Twitter - and tweeted that Costello was a member of the "gay gestapo" Well today - Costello responded to Fischer's remarks live on-air. Good for you Carol - for standing up for diversity and fighting back against the hatred and ignorance that is tearing America apart \\ ----------------- The Bad! *Todd Akin* Akin - the Republican running for Senate from Missouri - made waves this past summer when he said that women can't become pregnant from "legitimate rape" Despite the backlash from the comments - Akin stayed in the Senate race - and is trying to unseat Democrat incumbent Claire McCaskill. But at a fundraiser recently - Akin lost more points with female voters when he compared McCaskill to a dog. Referring to McCaskill, Akin told the crowd, "She goes to Washington, DC, it's a little bit like one of those dogs, you know 'fetch'" I think Akin's rape comments made it pretty clear that he has very little respect and understanding for women - but this latest remark really seals the deal.

Icelanders approve world's 1st "crowdsourced" constitution

Smari McCarthy, International Modern Media Institute, joins Thom Hartmann. As corporations seize control of more and more of OUR Constitution, thanks to the Supreme Court - the people of Iceland are rising up to take back THEIR own Constitution. Over the weekend, voters took to the polls in Iceland to approve a national referendum calling for a new Constitution to be approved in the wake of Iceland's financial crisis in 2008. That new Constitution was drawn up by a special panel of 25 citizens who took suggestions from Facebook and Twitter to draft the world's first ever "crowd-sourced" constitution. According to the results - 66% of the nation approved the new Constitution, which includes reforms such as nationalizing more resources, giving voters more power to call for their own referendums, and enacting term limits on the presidential office.

Why the UN is sending election observers to the US

Hilary Shelton, NAACP Washington Bureau, joins Thom Hartmann. Now thanks to the nationwide efforts by Conservatives to keep Democratic voters away from the polls and rig the election for Mitt Romney - foreign election observers will be on hand to make sure that the voting rights of minorities in America are protected come election day. More than 44 observers with the UN-affiliated Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe will be deployed at polling stations around the nation to monitor the election and potential disputes at polling stations. These observers were asked for by civil rights groups in the United States who've raised concerns over systematic efforts to restrict the votes of minorities ahead of the election - including Voter Suppression ID laws.

More Republicans arrested for election fraud...

Brad Friedman, Founder/Publisher-The Brad Blog, join Thom Hartmann. More allegations of election fraud against the Republican Party. A voter registration supervisor contracted by the Republican Party of Virginia was arrested on Thursday for destroying voter registration applications. Thirty-one-year-old Colin Small was caught throwing away a bag of filled-out voter registration forms in a dumpster. Police say the crime appears "limited in nature" but additional charges may be filed in the future. Already, the Republican National Committee is dealing with allegations of election fraud after it hired a firm known as Strategic Allied Consulting to register voters in key swing states. That firm was found to commit widespread fraud by destroying or tampering with voter registration forms filled out by Democratic voters. At least 11 counties in Florida have discovered tampered registration forms handled by the firm.

Wow! Corporate Personhood is on the Menu for Election Night..

David Cobb, Move To Amend / Democracy Unlimited joins Thom Hartmann. The movement to amend the Constitution to overturn the Supreme Court's insane Citizens United decision, and thus to declare that money is NOT speech and corporations are NOT people received a big boost on Thursday. The New Jersey State Assembly signed on to a resolution expressing "strong opposition" to Citizens United, and called on Congress to amend the Constitution to get rid of the ruling. New Jersey now becomes the ninth state to support amending the Constitution to prevent corporations, millionaires, and billionaires from buying our elections. Already, California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Hawaii, New Mexico, Rhode Island, and Vermont have adopted similar resolutions. And in just a few weeks - more states might join the list.

In tonight's "Daily Take" Thom discusses Rep. Darrell Issa's latest treasonous act.

Have Voting Machines Already Made their Choice for Prez?

So, your Nobel Peace Prize-winning European Union is demanding that indebted nations like Greece and Portugal privatize all their water resources if they want to continue receiving bail outs. As in - you want to stay in the Eurozone? Then hand over your most precious commons to transnational corporations. This is in line with the broader privatization agenda we're seeing all around the world - especially here in America as water, roads, school, prisons - you name it - are all being privatized and taken out of the hands of "we the people." These are all assaults on democracy.

Big Picture Rumble - Why should CEOs have more free speech than workers?

Adam Bitely, NetRightDaily.com & Liz Chadderdon, The Chadderdon Group & Horace Cooper, Public Policy Research join Thom Hartmann for The Big Picture Rumble.

Conversations with Great Minds - Sasha Reuther - Here's Who Started the Middle Class P2

Sasha Reuther, Producer/Director joins Thom Hartmann. His latest project is the documentary film, "Brothers On The Line" - A provocative historical narrative of power, commitment, and brotherhood, the film explores the legacy of union organizers and social justice statesman Walter, Roy, and Victor Reuther (his grandfather) and their leadership of the United Auto Workers (UAW). With the rise of the American automobile industry came the rise of organized labor - but the fight for workers' rights did not come easy in the Motor City. These three men helped lead the charge to bring unions to Detroit - and revolutionized the American workplace at the same time.
