I know I have done articles on Glenn Beck before, but he seems to be the gift that keeps on giving. Once we understand what he is about, then he throws a curve ball and starts the head scratching all over again. He's like a Pringle. You just cannot have one. I also know I should pray for him and not write about him. But it is so much fun I cannot help myself. Not since I quit LSD and was constantly looking over my shoulder for "them" have I heard such paranoia as I have from Glenn Beck.
Christopher Hitchens possesses a mind that makes you either love him or hate him. I do love his intelligence but his warmongering and embrace of the neo-conservative movement provoked me to also hate some of his thoughts. But love or hate he certainly is a force to be reckoned with. thinkingblue
Free trade is killing our economy. We need to protect our industries as many G8 members already do, we are just the moron's in the club that lets many of our industries compete against lower wage environments and governments that put up capital just to get their people work. Canada, France are just two that come to mind that put up cash to get film production work in their countries, there are many, many more examples.
Barack "Prince of Darkness" Obama? So says Christian Coalition televangalist Jack Van Impe. According to his interpretation of bible prophecy, Obama is the Minister of Change mentioned in Daniel 7:25. One may access his complete rant here:
I’d like you to hear my song, a response to the Supreme Court decision Kelo v. City of New London. That’s the 2005 decision that used the power of eminent domain to take private property from the owners and transfer it to new private owners. As Thom listeners know, the decision was an activist judicial change to eminent domain.
I'm a loyal listener to the show and love the topics and Thom's approach... I think I would like to add just a pinch of humor because so much is serious about our country and lives these days... that maybe we can lighten things just a little... and maybe smile a little so that the people we meet from day to day know that we are actually happy to see them and want be there with them....love can be pretty powerful stuff...
Guns kill more people that are below middle class or in poverty status and thats what THEY want. Corruption happens at all levels, but it most impacts those with lower income levels by job loss, get rich quick scams, OIL SPILLS, Corp.exemptions to everything, including taxes and lack of safety inspections on food, drugs, products, health care,SITE SAFETY(oil rigs, coal mines, etc.), BANK scams, etc...And we are now one of the fastest growing poverty level countries in the world as we have some of the richest CEOs ever. WE ARE A SICK NATION!
Forward: Today marks the beginning of my first attempt at a blog and I've chosen Thom Hartmann's community as my forum. I've titled the blog "Religious Right? Yea Right!" because I plan to discuss what I have heard from the right recently and how it is so out of touch with Christian values not to mention the values of most of the world’s religions.
"In 1774, British Brig. Gen. Lord Hugh Percy, stationed in Boston, commented, 'What makes an insurrection here always more formidable than in other places is that there is a law of this province which obligates every inhabitant to be furnished with a firelock, bayonet, and pretty considerable quantity of ammunition.' It would not be long before Lord Percy would realize how truly prophetic his words were.
