"Renaissance Thinking About the Issues of Our Day"
This recently updated graph says it all, especially for those who prefer pictures over text:
You REALLY want to "cut the deficit"? Those tax cuts for the 2%-ers are the BIGGEST reason for it.
Hi Louise and Thom;
Sounds like a new great adventure, may your star shine even brighter. Portland will miss you, but I'm sure the nation will gain.Here's a card I drew for the occasion.CheersKeith Tuckerwww.whatnowtoons.com

Today's scheme to fund alternative fuels with tax revenue which is supposed to fill public coffers....Hmmm
Sounds like, Give us a favorable tax rate and we will build a stadium / big box store/ corporation HQ, bank, automotive giant, etc,
Or just foot the bill outright like war, or current oil explorations.
If we pay for the stadium - will the team stay?
If we pay for the war do we get cheaper gas?
If we pay for medical care can we receive the care we paid for?
I heard on your show today that you're concerned about the move & Higgins. I heard when Stephanie Miller moved to New York with her dogs she used a service called Pet Airways http://petairways.com/
She has two huge dogs & all they do is move pets. I know moving sucks, so just trying to help you get everyone there safely.
98% of our oil used is in the transportation sector. It drives me nuts when I hear them talking and fail to make the distinction between energy used in home and industry with the transportation sector. If you want to reduce oil usage installing solar panels won't do it, but energy efficient cars will, and that's where we need to concentrate our efforts. We use 25% of the world's oil and we're sitting on 2% of the world's reserves so there isn't enough oil to power our selves, it's just an oil man's dream. Brazil has moved off oil to ethanol, and now exports oil for profit.
