ID cards; make Big Brother work and register voters.

If this immigration issue leads to some sort of national or upgraded ID card that confirms citizenship, maybe there is a silver lining.

That would be just the time to register voters. Same as a 'tick off' when getting a drivers licence, (Is that in place anywhere?) ticking a box would have you registered and that could even be coded to the 'smart' card.. Let's see someone challenge that at the polls..

I hear right-wing heads exploding as they realize that all the legal brown people they force into this would become active voters.. Just what is the right wing side on this? I thought they were against big govamint intrusion in their lives.. maybe they don't figure they would be included at the checkpoints..

Anyways, whatever steps people will have to take to establish or prove citizenship, make voter registration the default.

Thoughts?

Who Should an Economy Serve?

The top one percent own half of all the world's assets. In stark contrast, the bottom fifty percent of the world owns less than one percent. According to the 2014 Global Wealth Report from Credit Suisse, global inequality has surged since the 2008 financial collapse. The report explains that while global wealth has more than doubled since the year 2000, the vast majority of overall growth has gone to those who were already wealthy.
