To a point, that is so. Increases in CO2 can initially begin the warming process...then permafrost begins melting and methane (another global warming gas) is released into the atmosphere. CO2 will then appear as a lagging indicator in historical data...the methane release not being taken into account..

According to the Milankovitch Cycles, the earth should be entering a cooling cycle rather than a warming one . Something is amiss.
