Looking for a simple way to help us out here in SE Louisiana? Matter of Trust is spearheading an effort to send human and pet hair to our coast to build booms to collect oil as it washes ashore. We in New Orleans are calling them Hair Boudin (a local sausage pronounced Boo-Dan)! Hair collects 4-5 times its weight in oil.... synthetic booms made from plastic absorb 12-15 times their weight (but are in short supply). Please contact your local salons and pet groomers and ask them to not only save their hair clippings, but to send them to us!This will be a continuing effort even after the oil volcano is stopped... all hair should be recycled this way!
