Hey, Thom, I mentioned I did my rotator cuff physical therapy in a pool.  I might add that you literally do not hurt when you do the exercises with water up to your neck.  I couldn't take the pain on the mats now that I know what water does.  Plus, with the resistance, you really get a better workout.  Have your therapist show you the water techniques and go to a gym, Y or backyard pool.  Hope you get to feeling better soon.
