I was wonding if anyone heard about Distributism, and if so, what kind of reputation is has? I've read the Wikipedia entry and was curious why it has not made more ground... it seems like it might appeal to many people since it appears to predominantly focus on preventing monopolies (i.e. its against laissez-faire capitalism), it seems to support State welfare / safety net, yet disfavors state control of industries. It seems to have a history associated with the Church, for social issues, and frankly it seems like it would be something that tea-partiers would really go for.
Listening to Thom has really schooled me on economics, but I have not heard anything about Distributism, has anyone else heard anything good or bad about this?
