Is Beck's Blessing Really A curse?

I'm not a sports fan (unusual in sports-crazed Boston), but I read at Media Matters that as soon as the manager and a player for the St. Louis baseball franchise accepted awards from Glenn Beck and agreed to appear at his Beckerpalooza event, their fortunes changed drastically.  The team is mired in a losing streak that may keep them from the playoffs, and the player went into a slump that not only may doom his chances for the Triple Crown,  but his average might fall below the 300s.  And then there's this strange event: just a short time ago, some geese flying north crashed into power transmission lines at the MA/NH border, knocking out electricity for miles around.  WERE THESE THE SAME GEESE BECK POINTED OUT AS A SIGN OF GOD'S FAVOR?
