I will make this simple.
If the people that are planning to burn Quran do so, They should be held accountable for the deaths of ANY Americans killed in retaliation. Soldier or civilian.
This is premeditated murder and mayhem.
The " church" should have it's tax exempt status revoked immediately.
This is a blatant political act of hate and psychological terrorism against the Muslim faith.
Where are the Republicans on this!

Are you kidding me? How about any American deaths caused by the invasion and occupation of two countries being the reason? So some loser in a little church is gonna bring all hell down on us?
Seriously, you need to look away if this is so offensive to you. America is built on freedom of speech, and that is what this is.
If this is so offensive, then someone should have alerted Cheney. He could have done away with the waterboarding, dogs and used women's panties, and just burned some Qurans to break down the prisoners.
The fact that other offenses have been committed does not lessen this one. Sometimes one gesture is all takes -- to make peace -- or to make more death. This book burning is not freedom of speech. It is opposed to freedom of speech. It is primitive, medieval superstition. The Renaissance overcame such forces of ignorance and darkness. We are the Renaissance.
Already nearly 3,000 of Gainesville's sane citizens and other world citizens have signed a letter asking (very politely) for the "Pastor" involved to rethink his intended stunt and listen, and learn from wiser heads.... Perhaps listen a little more deeply to his own heart, and hear the God of Love at work there.... the link to the petition directed to Pastor Terry Jones is at Care2:

One Gainesville reader reminds us of this quote:
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." -- Mahatma Gandhi
The Constitution ensures the government can't tell people like "Pastor" Jones what he can say, but it also says the government shouldn't promote his twisted version of religion. One way to demonstrate that the United States is not supporting Jones' behavior and beliefs is to withdraw any tax exempt status he may be claiming. His words and deeds seem to prove he is not advancing a religion. Rather, he is pursuing a clear political agenda and should immediately lose any government granted privileges.
