Many find it difficult to comprehend that the U.S. is an Empire. Afterall, we don't appoint governors to run countries in our name as the British did or as the Romans did.

Empire isn't good or bad , it's descriptive. The word itself is considered negative due to past Governments that have used and were viscious in keeping and expanding said Empires. One can make the leap that some countries are Protectorates like Israel or South Korea (ROK).

As Perkins lays it out, first the economic hit men, devious, cunning, clever, if that doesn't work, the jackals, assasins and overthrowers of govt., if that doesn't work, the military. Our tax dollars at work. Hey Tea Party, look over here.
Eventually ALL empires collapse. Without exception.
