Is it time to march & protest FOX TV,New York Times,Washington Post,Wall St Journal,Etc....? Media is feeding "words of mass distraction"(WMD) is the reason for so many problems.Journalists need to buy out their fascist owners,find some progressive owners for support.We cannot make progress with the "Wolf" controlling the message.As one, it`s time to let big media know,no money till they do-right(no-WMD)

Do you honestly believe that MSNBC , NBC , CNN , ect don't belong on that list? All are corporate entities with something to sell and agendas.The Leftist Media has done the same exact thing for decades , now we have Right wing media doing it better (ie more entertaining). Both are telling "truth" , (preconceived narratives that fit neatly within their expressed ideologies) and not facts. What's funny about it, is the Left wing media crying about it.
If you want to be informed , listen to both sides and then research both narratives. You will find that most times the Truth lies somewhere in the middle and , yes , the truth is usualy boring, and makes poor entertainment.

Further clarification for reBecka: it means (for the majority of people who don't have the luxury of time to be out protesting) to emphasize patronage of (supporting, buying, complimenting, etc.) the businesses and institutions who do things in a manner which you find favorable.
Diminished demand will let he others wither on their own.
When i say media(that mean all) I won`t give anybody my time if i have doubts about them and if their tract record show even more problem,just like a sickness,one put a stop to it and warn others.Our media is very "sick",that why we are very "sick" We need to do something,before we die.
I say watch Free Speech TV as the alternative, and let everyone else know why you choose that (or your other progressive independent media of choice) over the corporate media.

I find the truth usually sits somewhere else completely. This idea of truth being in the "middle" somehow implies that truth takes political sides. It doesn't.
As to the original question, no. a boycott wouldn't work. TV media is no longer driven by the demands of the people, and you'll never get a critical mass to stop watching and/or demand a break up of big media.
That being said, I gave up TV two years ago and don't miss a thing about it. I get my news from multiple sources on the Internet. I'm usually way more informed about what is going on in the world as a result.
I love FSTV,Dish TV need to pay them the way Cable pay C-Span. In a communist system a boycott wouldn`t work(I know we`re not far from one) But with our consumer driven economy,a boycott can be very effective when target right. We need to use all tools at hand. Everybody know the internet is under attack,for being control.We need to find out what kind of tools will work for us(little people)

it seems to me like the media strategy is not to create rightwing propaganda (Foxnews/Limbaugh) the strategy is to create a media spectrum that ranges from Center-Right (NPR, MSNBC, CNN) to the far right (Foxnews, Limbaugh, Hannity).
This is done to move the political spectrum to the right and make people think that NPR, MSNBC, CNN are left wing, when in fact they are ..... at their best, "center".
The only good way to boycott the media is to use the internet to create a "green media" (webpages, TV shows, etc).

I'll second that motion. Most media in the U.S. is controlled by 6 corporations...some of the media are subsidiaries of other corporations including a major armaments mfr....., G.E.
They control nearly everything you read, see or hear...and we operate out of the reality they create for us.
Not likely they'll expose you to much that is contrary to their own interests or the interests of their corporate advertisers. There are outright fibs like Fox...and fibs of ommission like the rest of them.
True: We are the wealthiest country on the planet. . (translated, we're doing better than anyone else).
Omitted: The majority of the population in many other countries have higher living standards , higher wages, longer life expectancies. more time off and a better quality of life.

The Danish min. wage was $16 an hour when ours was $5.25. In relatively poor Ireland, it was $9.50 and they received health care to boot.
