We need another FDR

1 post / 0 new

Thinking we could find another FDR, for me, it was another time (another world?). FDR was elected and took office in March of 1933, that was just over three years after the crash of 1929. The unemployed had nothing to fall back on, almost all of the Stock Market gamblers had lost everything (only the Richy Rich hung on), and the rich were the public enemy number ONE.

Obama came in just as the fall was just happening, the unemployed had some thing (not enough, but some) to fall back on. Also, the press was a different animal too. FDR's health was never exposed (girl friends??), there was no Radio talkers railing about every move either.

Right or wrong, Obama has to work, or try to work with, a Congress where a large number are basically members of the 'Ku Klux Klan' and a Press (print, Cable and Radio) who are solely owned by the Cooperate monopoly.

Without a 'time machine' there can not be a modern FDR, the 'Right' as had 70 or more years to make sure of that.
