Today Mr. Emanuel was defeated by a vote of 2-1 in the Illinois Appellate Court. His fight to stay on the Chicago ballot for mayor continues tomorrow as he will appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court. He would need to convince 4 of 7 justices to hear the case. Then he would need 4 of 7 justices to over rule the 2-1 decision. Typically this doesn't happen. Also, Justice Anne Burke is powerful alderman Ed Burke's wife. Ed Burke has endorsed Gery Chico for mayor, that's 1 of 7 at least he won't be getting. The odds are against him.
