Video: Obama and the "Gang of Six"

James Galbraith, July 21, 2011 www.therealnews.com

"Gang of Six" Plan is all about cuts not increased taxes. Obama represents Wall Street faction of Democratic Party.

As Galbraith says, that this deficit debate is nothing but a gun held to our head to make working people ever more desperate? Remember, folks, the capitalist ideal: slave labor (cut wages), free resources (war), and captive consumers (no choices). That's the "goal." Call Obama at 202-456-1111 and tell him---Change this or you're FINISHED.

Obama seems to be finished any way.

It appears that, for a lifetime of lucrative, Wall Street funded speaking tours, Obama has sold out the American people who voted for him--even if that means only serving a single term. It is painful to watch perhaps the most heartless, corrupt administration in US history unfold: obscene public wealth transfer to the banks; massive increases in military spending on the US global plunder; an attempt to redefine full employment as 10%; major weakening and reduction in the already weak social safety net; massive public wealth transfer to the drug companies through guaranteed elimination of competitive drug procurement; global forgiveness of seventy years of war crimes and human rights violations; at home, forgiveness of nearly a decade of torture and other US war crimes; explicit and tacit executive approval of the unconstitutional "Patriot Act"; and, the list goes on. These are lofty Regan-esque right-wing accomplishments worthy of decades of greatness propaganda by the mainstream media.

After completely denying the poor all together and doing almost nothing for the working poor, it is hard to imagine how the Obama administration will motivate the left to get out the vote come 2012. As the quasi re-election of Bush demonstrated in 2004, even scary right-wight war mongering ideologs are not sufficient to motivate an under served left to vote. No. Obama may be an immoral megalomaniac but he is not feckless.

The Problem of the Establishment

One thing that both parties have in common in this primary season is the fact that there's a sharp divide between "We, the People" populism, and the rich and powerful Washington establishment.

On the Republican side, Donald Trump is leading the race by running on a populist platform based on the fact that he's not beholden to the billionaires or lobbyists, and that he's never been part of the political establishment.
