I would have thought that the "#1 progressive host" would mention the only Republican candidate that will end the wars and restore our civil liberties, but alas, it seems that Thom is also in the pocket of the powers that be.  Somehow they mannaged to discuss Gingrich, Romney, and even Cain, without once mentioning Ron Paul, who is #2 in the polls.  All I have to say is WTF?

He absolutely is pretending.

He absolutely is pretending. When he talks about the Audit of the Fed he only mentions Bernie Sanders and tries his little heart out to avoid saying Ron Paul's name. Today when he talked about the Trump debate upcoming he would only mention how Jon Huntsman is refusing to attend. No mention of Ron Paul. He opposes Ron Paul's views, which is fine, but he blatanly ignores him in a way that I can only rationalize that he doesn't want his listeners to hear what Ron Paul is truly about. Thom Hartmann would love nothing more than to trash the Republican's views that are bat shit crazy.

As for the Ron Paul having few followers: How can this be true with the vast amounts of money he continuously raises? All of which is grassroots donations.

Thom talks about him on

Thom talks about him on occasion and agrees with Ron Paul about the Fed, but thinks he's way off base on most other issues. Ron Paul said (in one of the debates) that government cannot create any jobs, but the silly little man doesn't even realize that he has a government job.

A candidate should be well informed on more than one issue.

He has tons of support

He has tons of support actually (in spite of almost complete media blackout), he won the last Iowa straw poll, and is the most polular candidate on the web http://rt.com/usa/news/ron-paul-twitter-primary-381//    Just admit it, Thom is biased.  One issue?  What about these:

1.     He wants to de-criminalize all drugs.

2.     He wants to end all of the wars and close all foreign military bases.

3.     He wants to eliminate all free trade agreements.

4.     He wants to end all corporate welfare/bailouts.

5.     He wants to end liability limits for corporations, such as the limit on BP’s liability for the oil spill.

6.     He wants to legalize holistic medicine and give doctors and patients greater freedom to choose alternative methods of care.

7.     He wants to eliminate the many food regulations, such as the ban on raw milk.

8.     He wants to repeal the Patriot Act, and re-establish all of our constitutionally protected liberties.

9.     He wants to bring the Guantanamo prisoners to public trial and end extraordinary rendition and torture.

10.                        He wants to stop all foreign military aid.

11.                        He wants to streamline legal citizenship paths.

12.                        He wants to eliminate the Department of Education and put education in the hands of parents, students, and communities.

13.                        He wants to end the prison industrial complex and eliminate victimless crimes.

14.                        He would pardon all non-violent drug offenders.

Ron Paul recognizes the

Ron Paul recognizes the symptoms of a sick society but his diagnosis is wrong. His kind of libertarian economic theory is the poison that led to the economic crash we're in.  Everyone thinks George Bush is a "neo-conservative", whatever that means, but he governed like a libertarian.  The people he put in charge of agencies were ideologues who didn't believe the missions of the agencies they headed were legitimate government concerns and so what you had, clear across the spectrum, was a govt. that was completely disengaged and was actively looking the other way except when it came to war and state security.  The result is that massive fraud went unchallenged - nobody was there to keep the wolves from the door.  In fact it played out just as any libertarian scheme would with the economy finally going kaboom because nobody was putting on the brakes as we were heading for the wall.

Thom gives Ron Paul every bit as much credit as he's due but he know that his political philosophy is crap and its just stupid to call a progressive talk show host out for not promoting a libertarian candidate.  If Ron Paul's message can't get traction then perhaps there's a reason.
