First time caller

Well after listening to the show for ages and I have to say I think Thoms the best thing going on the Radio, I decided I had something important enough to call in about.   I had an idea to deal with the worst effects of Citizens United on voters.  So I called in and got through!  Well kind of.  I was on hold waiting to speak to Thom since just after Senator Sanders left today from Brunch with Bernie and wasn't put through to speak with Thom.  I stayed on hold for well over an hour looking forward to participating.  You know the whole message of get involved, participate, Tag your it and all that?  Great message which is why I love Thom's show more than any other!   However when Thoms Screener comes on after the show ending and says "Joseph", and I ask if I could at least speak to Thom for 1 minute since I didn't get on during the show she says "Noooo" like that and then very rudely hangs up on me!  Yeah there's no guarantee one gets on the show but the point is Thom is a very thoughtful and considerate person and for his employee to treat a caller like this really doesn't represent him very well at all.

All she had to say is Thoms busy call back tomorrow, right?  Where is the civility Mr. Hartman?

I'm a

I'm a conservative/libertarian  Tea Party member and  in all fairness Thom has never engaged in censorship of any kind, at least not on his radio show the few times I have called in to rant.

In contrast, regrettably I have to be honest that the rightwing radio shows are far less amenable to accept callers of opposing views.

Of course, this is anecdotal evidence.

However, the times I have called into rant to bernie, I haven't been able to get on.   I don't attribute this to anything other than caller volume.

My advice is to call Thom anytime except the first hour on Friday which I believe is breakfast with bernie hour.

Its pretty obvious why the right-wing shows wont accept left-wing callers. The left wing has the facts anf figures on their side. Reality has a very liberal bias.  For liberals to get on RW shows   you have to trick your way on to getting past the screener. When Liberals do get on Limbaugh, they emabarrass him with the facts and he sputters his way through with his usual name calling rhetoric and propaganda. "AAHHHemmmm--You see folks-this is how Commy Socialists have to operate" etc. Quite pathetic. I think there are some on youtube.

sorry to hear that joseph.

sorry to hear that joseph.  nobody deserves that kind of rudeness especially after having to wait so long.  i hope this is the exception rather than the rule.

I'm certain this had nothing

I'm certain this had nothing to do with censorship or with Thom Hartman but instead was simply a matter of rude unfortunate behavior on the part of his screener whose name I won't mention. As I said Thom Hartman is always a polite and professional person and by the way he always gives opposing views a fair hearing.  My call was not about anything Liberal or Conservative. This just could have and should have been handled more politely and professionally.
