Turns out humans aren’t so evil at their core. New biological research unveiled at a recent science conference suggests that humans and other higher animals like primates, elephants, and mice have a biological basis for cooperation and even morality. Running counter to the idea that animals – and humans – are naturally aggressive, competitive, and nasty – biologist Frans De Waal said animals actually show tendencies for “reciprocity, fairness, empathy and consolation.”
Whether most Republicans realize it or not – the belief that humans are inherently evil underlies most of their ideology – hence why they think a human creation like government can never succeed. But as this research shows – cooperation is in our nature. In other words – democracy is in our genes.

Only modernism posits otherwise. Free markets, such as they are, require cooperation and generosity rather than the "art of the deal." Even "unit solidarity" recognizes that we are only as strong as the weakest link. The Libertarian heresy and Wall St. dogma.
The wise man (woman) understands cooperation because he understands that everything is connected to everything else. The fools are led by their primitive brain egos to believe that it is a kill or be killed world and lo and behold, they try to make it that way. This is no small issue.
No, it goes to the core of our current madness.
