It is appaling to me that the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer organization will stop its funding to Planned Parenthood because a right wing, "Pro Life" religious nut here in Florida has started some spurious investigation of Planned Parenthood. Who knows how many thousands of poor women will not have access to breast cancer screening due to the lack of funds. Those who may have been diagnosed postiive will risk their very lives due to their economic status. I guess the SGK feels that fetal masses are more important to "life" than breast masses which could be fatal.

The SK folk have been too focussed on funding and not on principle for some time. They accept support from the cancer industry, and now they buy into this Rightwing crap. Pity the Pink.

The SGK Foundation is the biggest fraud. 97% of the funds they raise goes to administrative costs. Very little goes to anti-cancer research.
Some senator, perhaps Bernie, should start an investigation of the Komen Foundation. Then they would be unable to fund themselves according to their own funding guidelines.
To quote Phil Ochs, "we ain't marching anymore." Give to Planned Parenthood directly and let them sponsor the cancer research. SK may have to reorganize to honor the founding grant.

According to their annual report and IRS filing, fundraising and administrative costs come to more like 20% of annual revenue. But 97% is a nice dramatic figure so points for that.
The SGK Foundation just reversed it's decision and will now continue to fund Planned Parenthood. I wonder why?
