49% of US households now the recipient of government cheese.

Half of the households in this country are now on the dole to some extent, which means that a huge percentage of the population is now personally invested in not only perpetuating the welfare state, but enlarging it.

99% of US corporations now

99% of US corporations now the recipient of American labor cheese.

Nearly every corporation in American is extracting huge sums of wealth off the labor of the American work force.  Not only do they want to extract an unfair amount of riches off the backs of American workers but they don't want to pay any taxes that would greatly benefit those workers.

Wow. We're worse off than even Rome prior to its collapse. It outsourced its labor costs to slave labor, and only had to put 33% of its people on the dole in order to maintain societal order.

That would be really bad, if

That would be really bad, if we were mice. LOL

I thought all of us were supposed to both help out and benefit from our government, 100%, not 49%. People help their government in different ways, not only by paying taxes. I would argue that being underpaid for one's work is a form of helping out somebody. The question is: Should that money we don't get, go to unelected corporate big whigs, or to government?

Once again Calperson blows it

Once again Calperson blows it out the anus.  The GOPimps undercut everything that would put people to work, so we have more unemployment and food stamps.  They also count retirement and the insurance called Social Security and Medicare as "the dole" when it is not.  If you kill the economy with Wall St. crimes and refuse to use tax dollars to employ needed and valuable public employees, you get people who need money to live.  Government ought to be there for them.  The argument is phony and hypocricial at best.  They hate democracy so much they are willing to screw over the innocent victims of the banksters and elite wealthy.  They never address the people responsible, while they prattle on about personal responsibility.  Calperson, you really are a piece of work.

Thom said that this would be

Thom said that this would be a right-wing talking point issued out of the Heritage Foundation, and now posted here.  Claims for unemployment are at a three-year low, see abcnews.go.com.

This is off point, but the other day on Thom's show, with the substitute host, I think, there was a caller from Colorado who mentioned that used to be a monk.

SNAP Retirees getting SS they

SNAP Retirees getting SS they paid for is considered dole, but GE subsidies, monsanto subsidies, exxon subsidies are not. The federal payroll increased more  as a % of population under republican control 2000-2008 than any time in history. Public payroll has decreased under Obama, private payroll increased.

21 dollars a week is too little as far as I am concerned. School lunch susidies are a good thing. My school lunch cost 25 cents, and that was what everyone paid. We had  fish on friday then,  in deference to Catholics.
