President Obama made his case on Sunday for why he deserves a second term in the White House.  Speaking in an interview with NBC before the Super Bowl, the President touted progress on the economy – arguing that when he took office more than 750,000 jobs were being lost a month – and now – 250,000 jobs are being created a month.

According to the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll – President Obama holds a 51% to 45% lead over Mitt Romney in a hypothetical matchup.  While the economy will still play a major role in the upcoming election, it’s looking more and more likely that SuperPACs could play the biggest role.  In that arena, where rich guys and corporations can give millions secretly, expect the Republican nominee to have a huge advantage when it comes to outside corporate cash and SuperPACs polluting the airwaves with lies and slander.  We’re on the verge of a two-billion dollar election – and our democracy will be worse off as a result.

Obama has actually raised

Obama has actually raised more money from Wall Street than Romney. But Wall Street will be certain to hedge their bets. Obama has raised $76,000 from Bain Capital to Romney's $34,000.

Rove was quoted as saying, “Just with President Obama’s billion-dollar campaign and the union juggernaut alone, we believe that Republicans will be significantly outspent in 2012."

Most voters vote along party lines with social issues like the right to life issue, the environment, and peace or war as being the most important issues for them.  However, the economy , specifically unemployment, will be a major issue in the 2012 Presidential election.

As the incumbant, Obama holds a huge advantage to being re-elected, if history tells us anything.

Yes, that's the issue.  Money, politics, and how that becomes pervasive power.  Then, how that actually deleteriously effects a representative form of democracy.

The Republican Party may not

The Republican Party may not be pulling in all the bucks because the Superpacs on the Right are where the real hit campaign will be financed.  I think Obama has to protect himself at all times, as they warn fighters, and unless you are just not going to play the current "no holds barred" spectacle, you have to find money where it is.  Those who complain about lesser evils need to admit that there is a wide gap between Obama and the Kochs.  If you want a non-evil, do the work or pray real hard; but do not confuse a protest Third Party vote where it will elect Republicans, with a "conscience" vote.  Real people other than you will suffer and die.  It matters.
