He can't legislate jobs. He provided the proposal that would create about 2,000,000 jobs but congress wouldn't hear of it. They want a recession so they can blame him, and the only thing left to destroy jobs is at state and local levels to great success. Pass balanced budget amendments that can only be bypassed under emergency conditions, which just happen to only occur under republican control. So state and local can fire their own staff to raise the unemployment numbers under Obama. America the land of the proud to be corrupt.

The GOP is admittedly in charge of job creation. They campaigned on it in 2010 and regained power on those promises. Why isn't Bohner being grilled over it? Where are the massive amount of jobs that the Palins, Cantors, Ryans, McConnels guaranteed would be created if the republicans were elected?

It's the Democrats, who don't have the power, who are being blamed again.

That's a republican meme, and it is entirely misdirected if it is aimed at 'Obama'.

The President signs the legislation that is put in front of him.

Saying 'Where are the jobs Obama' is implying that the republicans put a job creation bill in front of him and he wouldn't sign it.

See what I mean?

You're right. Besides, if civil rights aren't a pre-curser to democratic socialism, what is? I think Tayl is putting the cart before the horse.

@Bush_Wacker you can't vote on bills from the House, at one point 30 or more, if Reid won't bring them before the Senate. Some that originate in the Senate he "fills the tree", (may not be the correct term) so that no amendments can be offered. No amendments, therefore no discussion, take it or leave it so we end up with a 60 vote fillibuster. Both sides share some blame.

The Frontline show last week about the Great Recession showed that Obama had a choice in 2009-fix the economy or healthcare reform. Some of us feel very strongly he made the wrong choice. It was a serious misjudgement when they underestimated the jobs problem.

Obama say "make me do it",we the people don`t make this broken down corrupt government create jobs,we only have ourselfs to blame! Mr.Obama have the "bullhorn" he can go to homeless camps to job fairs to foreclosure auctions to 99% rallies. He do none of these,WHY???? Action speak louder than words, imagine if he did all these things how the people would respond??? We need to make this corrupt government respond by "exposure". Even the gays say jobs is more important than their issues as of now. We have even less excuses, compare to the corrupt politicians(they get paid) to make things right. We need a "New New Deal",we need to have 99% control of the Fed.The Fed bail out the 1% system with the backing of "only the poor pay taxes",that mean we should by all rights "own the Fed" and this bankrupt system! And these "1%" have the nerve to tell us to take austerity, they`re beyond "INSANE"! I have no more to say,we let these people get away with some of the biggest crimes in human history,we deserve what we get.WE WILL GO TO HELL WITH THEM!

Obama is now pandering for the election-back to hope and change. But we have seen his real intent in his actions for the past 4 years. Just being better than Romney doesn't cut it in these desparate times.

Love, have you heard of the tactic "good cop & bad cop"? The 1% is putting Obama as a good cop vs anything the astro turf party present. The bottom line is,the 1% remain the 1%.

"Yes, Obama duped young people by not doing every single thing they want. So now they'll all vote Republican. It's like when I want some bread, I won't settle for half a loaf. Instead, I will have a muffin made of broken glass."

Stephen Colbert

This statement makes more and more sense every time I see it.

What would you have him do, exactly? Any help he could offer on the government side is blocked by the GOP. More tax cuts perhaps? We've been systematically cutting taxes for decades and look where we are. Time after time we have allowed ourselves to make lazy, uniformed votes, and be swayed by manipulative arguments based on phony patriotism, and put politicans in office who have consistently voted agains the interest of the average person. We may just be getting ready to do it again. I think it's time for all Americans to look at the choices we've made over the past four decades about free trade agreements, access to cheap electronic goods, exportation of jobs for cheap labor, and blame ourselves. There is no quck way out of this hole we've dug for ourselves.

Golly edayres, that would require a willingness to get off our National Drugs of Cholce, Exceptionalism and Self-Salvation. The American Century Myth has been run into the dustbin of history, but it will take a lot of refuse workers to clean up the mess. When we "wake up" from this insanity, we are going to have to ge through a lot more than a change of mind. Yes, there is no quick way out. But, there is a way to stop smoking the crack.

Many of us have been doing that all of our lives. Our action of making the best choice is not the problem. It's the choices themselves that are the problem and there's little we can do about that. We can't force somebody to run for office we can only make the best choice from what there is. You can't fix the problem by making the worst choice.

As I have often said on this forum, whenever you have a vast number of well educated people unemployed you have the recipe for revolution. Chris Hedges addresses that issue in this article where the educated unemployed are called "delasse intellectuals":

http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/colonized_by_corporations_20120514/

Very often the right puts the problem on government failing to go one step further and going after the puppet master corporations who run the government.

The Death of the Middle Class was by Design...

Even in the face of the so-called Recovery, poverty and inequality are getting worse in our country, and more wealth and power is flowing straight to the top. According to Paul Buchheit over at Alternet, this is the end result of winner-take-all capitalism, and this destruction of the working class has all been by design.
