Solidarity, social justice and sharing open doors while deregulation and trickle-down mythology lead to exploding inequality and generalized insecurity. Finance market capitalism is the product of speculation and government collusion. Banks and corporations are bailed out with trillions while the real economy languishes. The state is reduced to a trough for the super-rich or an errand boy for the Wall Street banks.

Economics changes with the times. Once saving was the elixir and then spending was the elizir.

Karl Marx asked why capitalism cannot solve poverty, unemployment, exploitation and destruction of the environment. Happy May Day!
