I mean, couldn't they have allowed Hillary:The Movie to be shown and advertised without all the rest of the secret funding and other democracy-killing baggage?

That's what the plaintiff originally sought. But then Roberts closed the debate and told the parties to come back later and they would argue whether any of these regulations on political speech are constitutional.
