Small "l" libertarians support the repeal of Medicare and Medicaid. How many conservatives or Republicans do?

I keep hearing this propaganda that conservatives and Republican want to get rid of huge amounts of government. How many of them have proposed the REPEAL of Medicare and Medicaid? Not this phony "privatization" but outright repeal. The fact is that conservatives and liberals both accept that the federal government should be involved in health care in some substantial way. They just disagree on the details. Only libertarians support complete elimination of the federal gov't from medical care (save perhaps the VA, which could be justified by national Defense).

No, fascists also support your plan.

Let God sort out the poor, the blind and the naked, right?

It certainly shouldn't fall on you to care about a single other person but yourself.

Thou sayeth.

Do you believe that the Constitution really directs us to have a well armed militia and that also means we as citizens not only have a right but possibly a duty to be prepared to defend our country? If so, doesn't it make sense that a weak and sickly populace greatly reduces our nation's stability and therefore it's defense? Do you have a clue where I'm going with this?

Yet another illustration of the amoral nature of FirstLeftist and his libertarian philosophy.

Amoral: having no moral standards, restraints, or principles; unaware of or indifferent to questions of right or wrong

You forgot the bells of freedom drowning out the agonal respirations of the dying.

The moral is: the meek inherit everything, as these cowards fade away.

Every last self styled "libertarian" who comes here is really just a sociopath, like Ayn Rand, or the Beautifual Mind fuck-head. They promote a philosophy based on the belief of rational people making the best possible choices always, which if were true, then there would be no advertising, no alcohol for sale, no drugs on the streets, people wouldn't speed or eat fatty foods etc etc.

They can never point to any time or place where their ideas have worked, whereas today Sweden and Denmark and Norway and Austrailia and Japan all seem to have very fine healthcare socialist healthcare systems, thank you very much.

Should public radio program in the public interest?

NPR is supposed to be our national public radio, but they're barely covering climate issues that are in the public's interest.

Only one month ago, a national New York Times/CBS News poll found that half of all Americans think that global warming is already having a serious impact. Sixty percent of those surveyed even said that protecting our environment should be a priority “even at the risk of curbing economic growth.”
