This article by Jon Perr (aka Avenging Angel) from the Daily Kos sums up the republicans strategy for the elections since 1980 : lie to the American people, and hope the dumb ones fall for it. Problem is, that strategy gave us the Reagan deficit's and "W's" deficits, but not the prosperity and balanced budgets that were promised.

I hope it fails this fall. How in the world can people possibly be suckered by the same plan again ?

David Stockman lamented:

"[The] debt explosion has resulted not from big spending by the Democrats, but instead the Republican Party's embrace, about three decades ago, of the insidious doctrine that deficits don't matter if they result from tax cuts."

This item by Jon Perr appeared on the Crooks and Liars web site before the announcement was made, but is a good analysis of the ticket's economic plan.

Here, then, is an overview of the Romney-Ryan plan :

- Massive Tax Cuts for the Rich
- Ending Medicare as We Know It
- Shredding the Safety Net
- Increased Defense Spending
- What Loopholes Get Closed? That's a Secret!
- Trillions in New Debt
- Slower Economic Growth, More Job Losses

No he's trying to save it. Watch how many fox romper room hosts parrot this.

However to counter such nonsense challenge them with THIS

The video sheds light @ 6:39 and @ 7:50 I hear the response in the Obama campaign ad

Sounds like their plan to me! Increased defense spending.....can anyone speculate on the next war if they take office?

'Won't get fooled again' was an accurate reflection in #4

Ryan's Song [aka Behind Blue Eyes] is just as accurate

No one knows what it's like

To be the bad man

To be the sad man

Behind blue eyes

No one knows what it's like

To be hated

To be fated

To telling only lies

But my dreams

They aren't as empty

As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely

My love is vengeance

That's never free

No one knows what it's like

To feel these feelings

Like I do

And I blame you

No one bites back as hard

On their anger

None of my pain and woe

Can show through

Income Inequality Has Gone Up

The chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, Jason Furman, recently wrote in the Washington Post that "Last year saw the largest single-year reduction in poverty since the 1960s."
