Difference Between Liberal and Libertarian in My 1719 Dictionary

"Libertin", explained as 'the heretic, misbelieving people, who take godless freedom'

"Libertinage", explained as 'rude, infamous contempt of religion'

B U T :

"Liberal", explained as 'generous, goodhearted, mild' [X]

As we see here, libertin, libertarian comes from an atheist milieu of the 17th and 18th century. It was basically denial of rules. I am pretty much convinced, this libertarianism very much influenced and coined the French Revolution. The libertin/ libertarian idea claims freedom for personal benefit, pleasure and profit. Anarchism is extremely naive, but anarchists really claim to better the world. Ergo libertarianism is very much more selfish and meaner than anarchism!

[X] Liberalité actually belongs to the very open and tolerant philosophy of 1600s/ early 1800s GALANTERIE (I very much prefer the original French expression in this case).
