Californians — it’s time to retire Feinstein. Seriously, vote for anybody but Feinstein. She’s got too much party clout and she’s a dinosaur. She’s probably also extraordinarily corrupt.
Her column today on The Hill is one of the worst things I’ve read in recent days. She actually channels the ghost of Nancy Reagan’s failed drug war slogan.
First, we should once again make anti-drug campaigns a priority. In the early 1980s, former first lady Nancy Reagan coined the now-famous slogan “Just say no” as part of her national anti-drug campaign.
Although her strategy was criticized, she was able to use the White House as a national platform to address these issues.\
Next, Congress should refund the Office of National Drug Control Policy’s youth media campaign — the only national media campaign dedicated to reducing youth drug use. Funding for this program was eliminated last year in spite of the fact that 85 percent of teens are aware of the advertising campaign.
This campaign should be provided with the funding it deserves and expanded to make the connection between U.S. drug use and violence in Mexico.
"Several generations of high school students have grown up ignoring and disbelieving everything they've heard from government and police about drugs, including information that was factual and valid, because they discovered for themselves that most of what has been taught to them was simply not true."

►2009:Via ASA: Medical Marijuana “Truth in Trials” Bill Introduced in House
U.S. Representative Sam Farr (D-CA), and a bipartisan group of his colleagues, re-introduced the “Truth in Trials” bill in the U.S. House of Representatives today.
The “Truth in Trials” Act establishes an affirmative defense for individuals who are authorized to use and provide medical cannabis in accordance with state and local law. Under the provisions of the bill, patients and their caregivers would be permitted to introduce evidence for the court’s consideration which may demonstrate compliance with a state medical marijuana law.
►A Lie College Students Might Want To Tell
So far, about 190,000 students across the country (and abroad) have told the truth and been denied financial aid. It's impossible to know how many lied and headed off to college, federal aid in hand. Nearly 300,000 student-aid applicants, however, simply ignored the question in 2000-2001, the first school year in which it was asked.
Like the Red Menace of the early 1950's,
the current drug hysteria has led to a loyalty oath,
this time, the urine test.

►Campaign Finance Cycle via christy April 27, 2012
Diane Feinstein needs to “Just Say No” to money from big pharma and alcohol. The following campaign money she has received throughout her Congressional career:
Beer, Wine & Liquor $405,462
Pharmaceuticals/Health Products $381,050
Lawyers & Lobbyists $3,819,136
►If U.S. Senators Orrin Hatch and Dianne Feinstein have their way...
Here's the censorship language of the Hatch/Feinstein bill (S.486): "It shall be unlawful for any person-- (A) to teach or demonstrate the manufacture of a controlled substance, or to distribute by any means information pertaining to, in whole or in part, the manufacture or use of a controlled substance, with the intent that the teaching, demonstration, or information be used for, or in furtherance of, an activity that constitutes a Federal crime."
My opening statements "teach" people how to "use" criminalized drugs in a way that reduces potential harmfulness. They are nonetheless information that, if heeded at all, would be used "for ... an activity that constitutes a Federal crime," namely the use of marijuana or heroin. (Don't believe for a minute that the "intent" aspect clarifies anything: the "intent" of suspects in federal crimes is exactly what the prosecutor says it is. Period.)
The penalty for my heinous utterances: 10 years in federal prison.

"All propaganda must be so popular and on such an intellectual level, that even the most stupid of those towards whom it is directed will understand it. Therefore, the intellectual level of the propaganda must be lower the larger the number of people who are to be influenced by it."
Just Say No
"Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way around, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise."

►The Murder of Peter McWilliams
On 6/15, poet, publisher, Libertarian crusader, bestselling author of over 30 books (How to Heal Depression; Getting Over the Loss of a Loved One; The Personal Computer Book; Life 101; et al...), Peter McWilliams, died in his home, asphyxiated on vomit, for lack of medical marijuana. Remember Peter McWilliams the next time Drug Czar Walters claims the "drug war" is not really a "war." McWilliams had his computers siezed, his livelihood and works in progress destroyed, his finances frozen and bankrupted, his critical lifesaving anti-nausea medication- marijuana- denied, even his mother threatened with the loss of her bailbonded-home if Peter tested positive with one iota of THC in his system. The federal judge even denied McWilliams the right to use Marinol, "legal" synthetic THC available in pill form.

“DEA Success Update: Let’s see. After 20 years of relentless federal Drug War activity, while the price of world-class marijuana has gone from $60 an ounce to $450, the price of quality cocaine has plummeted from $125 a gram to $30, and 30%-pure heroin has dropped from $700 a gram to about $100.
