Thanks so much for choosing Mike Papantonio to host this week's shows.
Mike has developed a style that employs an opening monologue -- influenced perhaps by his background as a trial lawyer -- that sets the tone for the show. It works very well and elevates the discussion. Because I deal mainly with psychological and health-related issues, I appreciate that these figure prominently in the topics that he chooses to highlight.
I do still mourn the demise of Ron Reagan's syndicated AirAmerica program. (Perhaps because his wife is a therapist, he rivals Mike in terms of attention to psychological issues.)
Thom must've met Ron during their recent panel discussion, so perhaps Ron will be offered the opportunity to fill in occasionally over the coming year. (Ideally, I'd like to have both Mike and Ron available on radio everyday.)
"Pharma Bro" Martin Shkreli became one of the most notorious people in America for hiking the price of a rarely used life-saving drug by 4,000 percent in September of 2015.And nearly a year later, dozens of reports are now coming out about how Mylan Pharmaceuticals hiked the price of the very common life-saving EpiPen by over 450% since Mylan bought EpiPen in 2007.
