Thanks so much for choosing Mike Papantonio to host this week's shows.
Mike has developed a style that employs an opening monologue -- influenced perhaps by his background as a trial lawyer -- that sets the tone for the show. It works very well and elevates the discussion. Because I deal mainly with psychological and health-related issues, I appreciate that these figure prominently in the topics that he chooses to highlight.
I do still mourn the demise of Ron Reagan's syndicated AirAmerica program. (Perhaps because his wife is a therapist, he rivals Mike in terms of attention to psychological issues.)
Thom must've met Ron during their recent panel discussion, so perhaps Ron will be offered the opportunity to fill in occasionally over the coming year. (Ideally, I'd like to have both Mike and Ron available on radio everyday.)
Bernie Sanders' big win in New Hampshire has given his campaign a big boost, but even Bernie knows that there's still a long primary season ahead. One of the biggest criticisms about Bernie Sanders, one that I hear frequently from pro-Clinton callers, is that Bernie Sanders could be the next George McGovern. And it's a serious criticism that's being thrown at Bernie.
