Democrat:Protecting forests and trees by replanting and recycling programs. Government spending on research to protect the forest by stretching the use of current resources and creating better recycling programs. Unemployment benefits and relocation for displaced and downsized workers. Also, education opportunities for displaced workers and unemployment benefits while in school learning new skills and day care for any children. Republicans:Subsidies for the lumber companies to develop new lumber industry in another country. No unemployment benefits for the displaced workers. Spend millions of dollars educating the public to keep the status quo. Taking money away from government research and college grants and give tax breaks to the wealthy, “job creators”. The wealthy are the job creator they create more government bought congress persons then ever in the history of the world. This aids in congress creating more debit then the people will ever be able to pay back. I heard on a progressive radio station listener call in and say, “It is like the wealthy are ready to cash out of America.” For the Americans that will be here and live here after the cash out is finished, we will re-build. But for the wealthy that will be able to afford to leave the soil of America they will be gone, their lives unaffected, they will have a different color of money, they will have a different flag over their head and they will learn another language. The wealthy people will tell jokes about how many American workers they laid off. Maybe wealthy people have lost their will to be an American, maybe they do not identify with what it is to be an American. I thought being an American was to have a dream and to pursue it. Do wealthy people dream? Do wealthy people pursue happiness?

The real wealthy have already caught the elusive American dream. The only alternatives are to reach for another and gain even more wealth or sit back and relish what they have. Many will move out of country where there dollars are worth even more. If it were me, I'd keep what I need to finish out my life in whatever lifestyle I choose and give the rest back. You can't take it with you and you've already proven yourself to yourself.

Time to Rethink the War on Terror

When Eric Holder eventually steps down as Attorney General, he will leave behind a complicated legacy, some of it tragic, like his decision not to prosecute Wall Street after the financial crisis, and his all-out war on whistleblowers like Edward Snowden.
