If you are a hammer, everything looks like a nail. If you were a wrestler, you could laugh at Thom just the same for not knowing what those goofy wrestling outfits are called, but you are a runner. I never heard the word before Thom just mentioned it. He was right about it being a piece of clothing that is no longer in common use.
It's interesting to see how fast language evolves. There was recent article in National Geographic on languages going extinct. Over a few generations, we are losing thousands of languages. Another nasty byproduct of globalization.
