A more direct approach bx occupy movement

Rvsticvs's picture

Occupy needs a more cohesive leadership and clear goals, this will enable the movement to denounce those factions that are destructive and give the movement clear victories that will
retain members and add new ones. people need to know the hardships they suffer at the hands of police haue a payout in the form of real change

I don't know where that

I don't know where that leadership is going to come from.  Progressive talk radio these days seems to spend an awful lot of time talking about the Republican presidential candidates, of which there are basically three left as of the current time, and right wing pundits.  What little discussion there is on actual policies is often rather general in nature.  Economic issues are often mentioned, but I think there is only so much mileage that can be gotten from discussion of labor unions or corrupt banking executives.  I personally find the use of the word "bankster" to be unncessary and somewhat derogatory.  Not everyone who works in banking is dishonest.  Labor unions play an important role, to be sure, but the fact is that only a fraction of all workers today belong to a union.

There are some people who, although progressive in outlook, are unrealistic in what they think they can accomplish and who don't always want to sit down and let others have a chance to speak.

There are both political and financial obstacles to putting forth certain policies and creating successful legislation that would address some of the problems that many are struggling with.

Perhaps the Occupy movement should form a sub-movement to protest the lack of freedom of speech and the interference with this Constitutionally guaranteed right by the police and by local public officials.  Protests against the media for not adequately covering the growing economic inequality and for not pointing out the illogical detrimental nature of anti-government opinions and rhetoric is another possibility.  The movement needs to get creative in bringing attention to some of these roadblocks to being able to redress grievances.

I agree with you on many

I agree with you on many points but the issue is that the whole sistem is broken, there is not an all encompassing solution to the problem, it needs a sistematic approach, please read my post today and let me know what you think, I look forward to your input.
