And I think part of the "bail-out" was to absolve them of all the debts (leaving those who had carried them left holding the bag with no legal recourse because of the way it was done).

I guess wildly defecating on their customers (and customers' nexts-of kin) was the only thing left on their To Do List. [ Ryan's probably upset that they beat him to it - his defective product is killing his constituents, just more slowly. ]

I forget. Was this on the list of B.O. accomplishments?
