I got this post from a concerned Mom.....Talked to my son on the phone yesterday...He said they got a notice that the Pentagon is working on a deal that will do away with Military Retirement or they will only get a small portion of it....or it will be put in a 401K that he can't touch until older...He was told 11 years when he joined that he would get a good retirement after 20 years...He has been to Iraq like so so many of our men and women to fight for our country...and this is what our country is thinking about doing to them...I will fight as hard as I can and write as many letters as I can that Congress loses their retirement before our military..Twice already they have withheld their checks and they got them late. Is there a site a person can go to and look up the info? Thanks,

Not being a veteran I have not studied the details, but essentially the rumors are true.

Interesting....I was in my doctor's office yesterday when, during our good-natured political sparring, he brought up how we cannot afford to keep the retirement and healthcare promises made to veterans, sometimes possibly lasting 40-50 years. "We have to stop all this crazy spending." (Then the real debate began, but I won't get into that here.) I had no idea where he came up with that about veterans since it really hasn't been on the radar screen yet.
