Brian Sussmann interview

The most interesting thing about this exchange was when Thom turned the tables on Sussmann about Al Gore's main purpose of making money and asked Sussmann who pays him and how much, he dropped the subject like a hot potato.

The Great BP Gulf Oil Calamity

Simply, why has this disaster been allowed to gush? Call in the Navy, the Marines, ANYONE that can stop this ecological and economical terror to the Gulf Coast! Why in the world would this administration trust the 3 companies that caused this catastrophe to fix it? Is the administration allowing it to continue for subversive reasons? If indeed those workers that were able to get off the platform were not allowed off their rescue boat until they agreed not to say a word about what went on, and if in fact there were bigwigs on the platform for a celebration of saf

Thom's Guest on Thursday, Pitts, Actually Has a Point

I worked with a retired FBI agent for a few months. He noted that the biggest problem in the health care industry - aside from the ridiculous cost of insurance and actual care - is pharmaceutical counterfeiting. Thom's guest, Mr.

outsourcing is a threat to national security

Healthcare Outsourcing

I work in hospitals where they import Nurses to help dilute the voting pool against a Union vote. It is disgusting. Telling these Filipino nurses that they hold their Visas. I was an immigrant from Denmark at the age of 14, now a citizen. We have rampnat unemployment, yet getting in to a Nursing school is somewhat difficult. Let's start educating our own citizens to service our citizens. BTW I love Filipino people, and most of them are very good RN's. I do not begrudge them in the least, I just feel they are being used to serve a more sinister motive.

In a Perfect World, Part One

If I were…the king…of the forest…I would make a few changes to make my forest more perfect. Maybe you have some additions that would make the forest even more perfect-er. Here's a list I've been thinking about, a little socialism can go a long way after all freedom isn't free.

So in a perfect world:

1. Derivatives are illegal until they become regulated and have a transaction tax added

2. The big banks are broken up

3. Hedge funds are illegal (too late for Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Ireland)

What will it take for the people to unite against the corporatocracy?

Greece is the word!

Small Correction

The term is not 'bigwhigs', it is bigwigs. It comes from the early days of the country when one's ability to afford a big wig indicated one's position in the social hierarchy. Thus, be careful -- the bigwigs are coming.

dealing with state supported terrorists

In discussions with the cons about how to treat actions like 9/11, talking about police action will not work.
Reagan had a response to Libyan support of terrorists. He bombed a presidential palace. The support of terrorists stopped. The cons will understand if Thom suggests doing what Reagan did. It did not require a war.

the problem with Cesar Chavez

I'm no rightwinger but I think certain sacred cows of the left need to be jettisoned ASAP. Enough about Cesar Chavez already. There are certain great things he and the UFW did-however where are they now? Thom is a great and learned guy but enough about Chavez already. The guy is a cult leader.

"The Saddest Thing Is This Won't Be Breaking News"

Thom plus logo As the world burns, and more and more fossil fuels are being used every day planet-wide, atmospheric carbon dioxide levels passed 416 ppm this week at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii. In the 300,000 years since the emergence of modern humans, carbon dioxide levels have never been this high.
