Answer: Because they like division!
Today on Thom's show he talked about why Lisa Murkowski appears to be losing her primary to a Tea Party candidate. One thing not mentioned was Senator Murkowski's comments when questioned about "Death Panels" and "Government Takeover of Healthcare" during the healthcare reform debate. She said (I'm paraphrasing here) that there were plenty of things in the healthcare reform bill to disagree with, we don't need to talk about things that aren't real. That statement sunk her. Here in Alaska a lot of people believe that the president is a Muslim terrorist Manchurian candidate born in Africa.
Meg Whitman has dominated the airways in California. I am assaulted by her campaign everywhere I go. Her ads are so transparently manipulative, as commercial after commercial shows her giggling and holding giant foam letters that spell "Ebay." Is anyone else absolutely creeped out by this? If you have your TV on mute you might simply think it's an ad for Ebay - that's how gratuitous it is! Obviously she has an army of people who are masters of marketing and advertising.
All I've heard from the GOP this Summer has been a load of racist crap I thought our country had out grown, I still think we are better than this, I believe the corporate controlled media is giving them the voice that they never had before, broadcasting this filth as news worthy. Last weekend the AFLCIO had a rally in LA that thousands attended, yet the whole weekend never mentioned it, but they sure let us know that "About 400" Tea Party yahoo's were sitting on the Arizona border in their Winnebago's!!!!
It's become standard for the mainstream media to say that the Manhattan mosque became a national issue when President Obama weighed in with his opinion. This isn't true--it was in the national conversation before that, hence the reporter asking Obama his opinion at that news conference.
I'm counting on sane radio pundits to counter this insidious creep of mythmaking in the MSM.
"In order to reach your inner spiritual world, we must have the means of doing it. We must have the channels through which this power can flow. Part of your psychic and spiritual unfoldmen consists in becoming more and more receptive to our influences. As your soul natures blend with your spirit co-operators, so they can transmit through you that power which can help in times of crisis, difficulty and danger. This power is hard to define because it is impalpable and intangible from the material standpoint, but it is none the less real. It is part of the force o
One argument that's often used with respect to defining an embryo is a human being is the fact that it genetically human; i.e., that it has human chromosomes. The fundamental flaw with this argument is that this is true of every cell in the human body. If one follows that logic further then, if one cut off a finger, then one has committed murder, because genetically human cells were killed. Well then, if one further argues that a finger is not a complete human organism; I would argue, neither is an embryo. The Supreme Court's arguments regarding viability seems valid

Since Mitch McConnell -- with only a slight hesitation -- is willing to take Barack Obama's word that he is a Christian, I am willling to take McConnell's word that he, too, is a Christian. I would, however, like to see McConnell's original birth certificate to verify that he is an American citizen. His accent would suggest another nationality as does his uninstructed understanding of the U.S. Constitution.
