Having spent the last four years deeply involved in the renewable energy movement, I've become more sensitive to the issue that although nearly everyone is in favor of moving ahead with clean renewable energies, very, very, VERY few people move the conversation forward, and therein lies a huge part of the problem. THEY NEVER GET OFF OF FIRST BASE!
Bend, Oregon - After reading James Martin's, S.J. piece on the Huffington Post I got to thinking why the uproar over "Social Justice" for people who actually believe in the Gospels and try to be good Christians. Did they miss the references to the poor? If you happen to be a Muslim you already know that one of the 5 purposes for the Koran is that it is a road map for social change built on social justice, economic equity, racial harmony, human rights, and dignity.
The U.S.A. is under attack.
For too long, global corporations have gamed our politics to increase their profits, no matter what the cost to ordinary Americans, small businesses, and the total economy.
Beginning in the 1970s, corporate “special interests” gradually gained almost total control of both major political parties. Now their corrupt agents use Congress, the Executive Branch, and the courts to plunder the American people, pillage our Treasury, and bury us in debt.
Greetings So many Americans equate Buddhism with the Dali Lama or Zen which are both SEXIST and Homophobic.Over 2,000,000 followers of The Lotus Sutra (for example: Nichiren Buddhism ) are neither sexist nor homophobic. See SGI-USA.org
PS: Isn't Burma a Buddhist nation that is pretty warlike? (They are Hinayana , I believe )
In Williamson, NY workers at teh Mott's plant are saying no to corporate greed. We need to stand up in solidarity with Mott's workers and all workers that say no to the greedy corporations.
So we get a day off. So what? A whole lot of us would rather be working, and not in that sweaty, part-time, on-call, no-benefits, minimum-wage, you-want-fries-with-that? kind of way.
It sucks. It blows. It [insert your pseudo-sexual euphemism here] Big Time! I feel your pain, but I can't explain your pain. That's way above my pay grade. Thankfully, there are those who can and do. Excerpts to excite, entice, and incite with excellent insight...
There was a book that was recommended today on the show by Thom. He said, it was pivotal. Something that was important, really a political work, but not specifically political. I can't think of a good illustration of this. Maybe an environmental book, like Silent Spring? I think it had only one word in the title, or the title was very short. I was busy at the time and couldn't write it down. I'm coming up with a blank now. Anyone have any ideas? (email@example.com) Thanks!
Why are we fighting, dying and surving w/ traumatic brain injuries for pedophiles!
Raping and enslaving boys is a standard ACCEPTABLE way of life. Leave them to their rocks and caves and get the hell out of there. I'll fight the terrorist on our soil rather fight to protect a phedophiles right to rape!
