The Lost Art of Poo-Doo

A botanist who scours shelves for mysterious old books and herbals is likely to find something unusual eventually, especially in private collections of books which have somehow ended up for sale at the Faith Farm. Of great rarity in my collection are a set of small books which belonged to a priest, on the Ritual and Practice of Poo-Doo, Its Use in Human Kind.

what am I up to... its about time

Catching up to what one is supposedly (or supposed to be) doing “now”, by means of technological speed (‘advocative’ or votary velocity?), I suggest, shrinks “real-time” – because of which the so-called “tipping point” in political decision-making has been missed or misrepresented. However, I think the same effect expands “nodal/modal time”.

Tax Simplification and Complete the conversion to metric started in 1866

Tax Simplification: The tax code is so complicated, the IRS cannot give correct answers.
I called the IRS at 8008291040 to check if I can get the foreign tax credit for taxes paid on dividends of American Depository Receipts. After > 50 min, I was told to check publication 514

Use negative feedback to achieve stability. Behavior that causes increases of spending by the society should be taxed to pay for itself.
End all lifestyle subsidies. Have a floor of standard of living below which nobody should fall.

Inspection- Am I a Christian?

Easter time! Somewhere between the gruesome execution thousands of years ago, and the Easter Bunny, there is meaning. Or "meanings?" What is a Christian? Who would the man born in Bethlehem have considered a follower? And what of our skeptics?

OIL SPILL MN: “Massive Spill from Train Derailment in MN Confirmed as Carrying Toxic Tar Sands”

"near the town of Parkers Prairie, MN, 150 miles northwest of Minneapolis, spilling their contents. Due to the snow and extreme cold weather, the spilled tar sands is thicker and the clean-up process is likely to take longer."

"As well as potentially affecting the health and safety of surrounding communities as far as the Twin Cities, the spill potentially threatens a thousand lakes in Otter Tail County, where the derailment occurred and where tar sands contamination of these vital waterways would be devastating."

OIL SPILL AR: “Exxon pipeline leaks thousands of barrels of Canadian oil in Arkansas”

officially described as a “Major Spill”, and the Keystone XL Pipeline hasn't even been completed yet!

“Kerogen”: Obama will never let us get off fossil$$$ fuels$$$.

This from the article:

Registering voters and spreading the 411 on Prop C in Los angeles. Tabled today at the Crenshaw FarmersMarket. Talked to some very nice and receptive folks who wanted to know what Prop C was all about and why they should care. Had some good conversations with some older people who have been voting since 1960. Wow. Positive experience.

A Day in a Life

I was watching a symphony orchastra tuning up yesterday. Although it was chaotic, I heard the seed of what Lennon and McCartney heard many years ago for the finale of A Day in a Life. For deades, I simply thought the that it was a creation of some very stoned and tripping artists. Now I know. Two stoned and tripping artists heard a symphony orchastra tuning their instruments and were inspired.

Here is a story in a fairy tale format.

Once upon a time there was a country that discovered some amazing economic secrets. And, it seems, the country guarded those secrets zealously. The first thing it discovered was that it did NOT need to collect taxes when it wanted to spend. How could that be possible? Well, as a newly formed country its government wanted to create its own independent money that, as a modern currency, would float freely on the markets.

Here's what the feud and reconciliation between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson can teach us about civility

Thom plus logo Donald Trump did not invent the art of the political insult but he's inflamed the level of vitriolic public discourse and incivility to a new low unmatched by other presidents. In a tainted tradition that has permeated our history, other presidents have not been immune to dishing out acerbic insults against one another.
