WWII Atrocities

Greetings from Joe in CA, an octogenarian and survivor of the bombing of Hamburg in 1943. I appreciate Thom's views, knowledge and insight! A couple of days ago, he spoke of the exemplary way in which Eisenhower treated German POWs, an impression I shared until a few months ago, when I came upon a book by James Bacque titled "Other losses", which absolutely threw me! Take a peek at it.

Keep up the good work.

Changing psychology, psychiatry, and pharmaceutical therapy with ‘’

If the science of evolution were incorporated into the discussion of emotions, would exploration of that avenue lead to a new understanding of emotions? May we come to view emotions as having the character of a sensory system, like seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting or touching? If so, what might we find emotions to be perceiving? Would emotional disorders take on a new light and perspective? Would this new perspective add new goals and intentions within psychological, psychiatric, and pharmaceutical therapies? Might the possibility of a cure present itself in

Would you rather pay Amazon $48 or the car dealer $300 for repairs

I just had my side view mirror assembly busted off of my car. It was a heated and adjustable mirror. So, I checked to see how much it would cost for the dealer to replace it and the price was about $300. If I bought the mirror from the dealer parts department it was going to cost $150. So, I bought the mirror assembly from and the price was $48. It comes painted black as a standard I will have to paint it to match my car...doesn't have to be a perfect match (if you buy the perfect match color the paint would be about $28).

Most new jobs are going to be for computers and eqipment not people

I have a brother that has a buissness it is a time clock payrole sevice he has 50 employees and 25000 clients these companys used to have payrole clerks now they have my brothers computers this is a net loss of 24950 jobs if people dont think technolegy is going to take there job anp push them into poverty they better hope the government is going to create more jobs in government or they are in trouble

Republicans put an end to Democrats being elected President.

Yea, I know, I'm talking like it already happened but we're dealing with the dregs of American society,

So we got this, not that it matters, because there really is no difference between the two parties anyway. This from DailyKos:

Wall St: Budget deal used to get away with things that Taxpayers wouldn’t approve of.

No Pardon for Bush War Criminals

I was very dismayed to hear Thom's advocacy for the pardon of the Bush administration for torture. This scheme seems like just another of the all-too clever devices by which Democrats have for decades ceded vast tracts of ideological territory to the right.

What makes you think that history will record such a pardon as anything but a pardon? It will be used by torturers and war criminals to point out to Democrats that their own leadership is just fine with these horrors.

The notion that Bush adminstration Iraq and Afganistan war criminals should be preemptively pardoned is quite disappointing coming from Thom Hartmann, of all people. Imagine the fallout: The pardoned criminals scoff pointing out that they have not been tried or convicted of anything, the corporate media parades operative after operative chastgating the "unconstitutional" slandering, whitch hunting liberal fools, then behind closed doors the criminals high five and do victory dances knowing that they will never be prosecuted for their crimes.

In the 300,000 years since the emergence of modern humans, carbon dioxide levels have never been this high.
