October 2015

Many times I’ve heard people say “I’m not going to vote in the primary, I’m just going to vote in the general election.” These people may be unhappily surprised when they find that the person they wanted to vote for in the general election aren’t even on the ballot and wonder why.

GAME OVER For the Planet

Canada is 5 days from a National election and the headlines read , "Oil Patch Nauseous "at the outcome , because like the United States we've burned all of Canada's good oil and all that's left is the toxic slurry known as Tar Sands.

Hillary Uses Vintage "Clinton Triangulation" for Cheap Points in Debate

Hillary played dumb with Bernie Sanders and the entire debate audience in the first debate. Bernie, in an attempt to broaden the conversation on Socialism, held up Denmark and other European countries as successful Socialist countries. Hillary triangulated perfctly by playing stupid with Bernie saying, "We are not Denmark." The media lemmings have jumped all over it, as dutiful little shills should do.

Cat Food: Govt manipulation of the calculation of inflation means for the first time in 40 yrs 77 Million Americans will not get increase in Assistance checks.

Same old trick, move toward the desired level of inflation by including somethings and excluding others and then use that measure as index for some such government spending, like social assistance, regardless of whether or not the measure of inflation calculated actually reflects a relevant basket of goods.

So, as Karl Marx might say, Washington is managing its army of surplus labor similar to the way China does. That is, push them into ever lower paying jobs just so they can eat and have a roof over their head.

And who is in the White House? A DEMOCRAT

Bernie Debate Party Concerns

Fifteen people showed up to the gathering that I attended. Nice, thoughtful, reasonable people all. Yet several things concerned me.

Is Hillary saying she's going to means-test Social Security?

Senator Sanders made his pitch for tuition-free college, opening Medicare to everyone, and expanding Social Security. And then it was Hillary's turn to talk about each. This exchange happened after her discussion on her college affordability program. It's one part of the debate where my blood ran cold.

If David Cameron were an American President, He Would Have Been Impeached by Now

The Conservative Government won the 7 May 2015 General Election in Britain to the great surprise of the pollsters and pundits but the reason for that victory is not hard to find.

Disconnect Between the Media Pundits and Reality (America) on the Debate

It is more of the same from the media. Nearly every talking head is calling the debate a slam dunk victory for Hillary. The "Morning Joe" crew said Bernie was pushed araound all night and are saying, please no more debates we have seen enough. What a weak field. CNN, MSNBC were almost unanimousin raising the victory flag for Hillary.

Democrat Debate: don’t tell me what I should find important Mr Sanders, and it’s Hillary’s lack of scruples and ethics.

Bernie Sanders is part of the problem and not the solution.

"The Saddest Thing Is This Won't Be Breaking News"

Thom plus logo As the world burns, and more and more fossil fuels are being used every day planet-wide, atmospheric carbon dioxide levels passed 416 ppm this week at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii. In the 300,000 years since the emergence of modern humans, carbon dioxide levels have never been this high.
