I would have asked Thom Hartmann this question; however, his show does not allowed off-topic calls, until Fridays and I am never able to call then. Heck, I have tried, before and I always told cannot do it and hung up on. Plus, he does not accept modern technologies way of communicating with host, because he will not address any E-Mails or Texts.

...part of her proof was what his troops' uniforms had on them, saying (in some many words) they were God's chosen ones.

I am really confused, as she had discussed and pointed out, yes, as an Elementary-College student, I never was educated about WW2, let alone Germany and Mr. Hitler. Heck, I was not even educated about either of The WWsl it was like there was no WWs. Luckily, I was educated by my family, both my grandfather enlisted- one as failed test pilot and the other actually fought all through Europe and the invasion of Germany. But, my greatest education came from my dad (awesome student of history, aced classes; no exaggeration) and History channel (my dad in the last 20-years is addicted to it). I also, gained a more deeply and relatable, to present day, education from Thom Hartmann, extremely smart man.

From what I remember, of my education of this, Hitler created a cult and used religion to be base of this cult; he used/pretended to be Catholic/religious to get what he wanted, but never truly was religious.

In fact, I have always been a believer the most power thing out there is what we all have and in different degrees, our brains and it only matters how much we use it. Knowing this, religious people have always said well, look at Hitler and Stalin (Russia's ruler- early 20th century) they were atheist (I do not know if they called themself that or not) and look at what they did and believed. There is no doubt Stalin was not religious (Russia ban religions) and tortured and killed more people than Hitler ever did.

Is it true that Hitler was not religious (or however he referred to his addressing of religion) and simply used Catholic religion to manipulate his country??

I have long believed that the notion of Hitler's occultish leanings was propaganda intended to cloud the reality behind Hitler's persecution of Jews—he was a Christian and justified much of his mission with references to Christian rhetoric, "the Lord," etc. But for many Christians here, especially, the notion is unthinkable; thus, the cult myth.

This site offers, seemingly, both sides, however: http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1699/was-hitler-a-christian

You will find this, below, and there's enough evidence to believe his stated "Christianity" was not mere propaganda:

"An Associated Press article from the Lansing State Journal, February 23, 1933, is headlined, "Hitler Aims Blow at 'Godless' Move," and talks about how Hitler was campaigning against atheist communists and wanted support from Catholic Nazis. One line in the article specifically says, "Hitler, himself, is a Catholic." (You can see the entire article at http://www.infidels.org/library/his torical/unknown/hitler.html .) In addition, in 1941, Hitler told General Gerhart Engel: "I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so." He never left the church. He was baptized a Roman Catholic as an infant and was a communicant and altar boy in his youth.

In a speech at Koblenz, August 26, 1934, Hitler said: "National Socialism neither opposes the Church nor is it anti-religious, but on the contrary it stands on the ground of a real Christianity . . . For their interests cannot fail to coincide with ours alike in our fight against the symptoms of degeneracy in the world of today, in our fight against a Bolshevist culture, against atheistic movement, against criminality, and in our struggle for a consciousness of a community in our national life . . . These are not anti-Christian, these are Christian principles!"

Berlin, Germany, Nov 6, 2006 / 12:00 am (CNA).- A new stone sculpture was unveiled in Germany this weekend to commemorate the many Catholic priests and monks killed in a lesser-known World War II Nazi concentration camp near Berlin.

http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/nazi_concentration_camp_unveils_monument_to_catholic_priests_killed_in_holocaust/

Whenever the tenents of the faith are adhered to...priests tend lose their heads if those tenents are in oppositon to state policy.. The Bishop of El Salvador was murdered in his own cathedral while saying Mass...courtesy of a U.S. supported para miliary group for the most part consisting of baptised catholics. For a catholic, murdering a bishop is the equivalent of murdering an apostle...Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, etc. No difference.

Cathoics murdering catholics is just as prevalent as protestants murdering protestants. Death tolls of priests, nuns, brothers throughout So. and Central America are pretty high from the same sort of thing.....with U.S. blessings and bullets.. A "religious" label doesn't say much about who a person is... Actions do that.

Religion tends to mold itself to the culture if finds itself imedded in. That's true in Germany....just as its true here with Christians clamoring for war, book burnings and attacks on mosque's..

The "official church",. like any religion or insittution... is concerned with its own survival.

What faith was the American tyrrant who butchered Iraq? What's the faith of the man butchering Afghanistan? What was the faith of the American Pres. who caused 500,000 infant deaths...with a blockade?

"Thou shalt not kill"......except, yada, yada, yada, .

"Love thy neighbor".....except yada, yada, yada.

Non-christian christians seem to take great delight in killing Christians and other religious groups.. Not much different than non-muslim Muslims. Right wing "christians" of all faiths supported Hitler's rise to power. A "religious" label doesn't say much about who a person is... Actions do that.

Nope. The only log-in name I have is polycarp 2. Note the " 2 "

If I did that, I'd probably no longer be a moderator.

Polycarp2, the original "Polycarp" was a Christian martyr, right? Did you name yourself after him? Are you an admirer?

Yep. He was an early theologian as well. He examined theology. I admire that he examined it...and don't agree with a lot of his conclusions.

Well, it does not identify you as moderator, of these threads?

Also, keep in mind I am not talking about posting at these message boards; I was talking about using a Yahoo account to post a flirt to a friend of mine named, Ghazal. By the way, I was encouraging the flirter, because I knew she did have a boyfriend and see is a awesome person.

Hey, everyone,

NatGeo just had their historical programming on Hitler and Nazis marathon and that is right one of the programs was titled 'Hitler and The Occult.' What they believed was that Mr. Hitler was a Occultist only because his mentor believed in the pure white race being superior race and a was diehard occultist, also, Mr. Hitler had unbelievable ego and that he was destined to be something special. His mentor (I forget his name, he is now, infamous for being The Modern Hitler creator) used that and Mr. Hitler to carry the occult believes he had to the upmost powerful position in Germany. Then Mr. Hitler ran with it up until he had the most powerful position in Germany and then killed his own astrologist (breaking his ties to occult and occultistic prediction that he would dominate the world, that required both men to be alive and a root that looked like a man to be with Mr. Hitler all the time); along with as many astrologist and occultist he could. He only spared those who were in his administration and their own private astrologists. He no longer believed in any religion or occult; which leads me to my belief that simply used the evolvement Occult and Religions in his Germany to manipulate citizens of his Germany into doing the sick things his mental illness wanted.

There was the program about the 42-assisnation attempts on Mr. Hitler’s life; during one of them a man (in training at a French Seminary, in Germany) tried to kill Mr. Hitler. The reason given was that Mr. Hitler was persecuting Catholics, with Germany.

polycarp2,

Also, that is not a message board or thread; so, it is completely within the rules. Plus, if I was to post the URL, where it could be found, it probably would not work and if it did work, then it would valiate her or my own privacy*; since it is posted to her on her own yahoo homepage and appears in my homepage.

*- She even later told me that she is not to becoming romantic with anyone; so, I removed my encouraging post.

WhichTruth,

I have already knew that and actually mentioned the uniform thing, in the post starting this thread; however, NatGeo's Nazies and Mr. Hitler programs communicated that he broke from Occult and never believed in Christianity.

It has always been time, for us to work together for the benefit of all of us. I am not just talking about The USA vs Terriorist (I hope you understand that our actions were Terrioristic, in it's self, for many many decades and what happened to us was caused/done by the people we are not killing and torturing); I am talking about The World verse The Evil of our World. Peaceful actions are the only answer and non-peaceful actions are only used when the world is truly being over run with evil (like WW2).

Facebook and all other social networking is money hungry and privacy killing corporations, in disguise of freedom expanding networks.

How Did the America Media Miss the "Pro-Life" Movement Isn't about Saving Life - But - Is About Women Under the Thumbs of Men?

Thom plus logo Anti-abortion groups want you to believe they're all about saving "unborn" human lives, but a new poll shows that, for the majority of abortion rights opponents, that's a lie. The "pro-life" movement, it turns out, is fundamentally about keeping women down - a sentiment that's even shared by a majority of women who support forced pregnancies.
