What happened with your radio program on KTLK - AM, Los Angeles??????????

You are GONE??

We ( and other folks we know) used to listen to your KTLK- AM radio program in Los Angeles, M-F, including "Brunch wit Bernie".

We all found it very informative and stimulating. It was VERY, VERY USEFUL, specially at a critical time like this.

What has replaced your program on KTLK, 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 Noon, can best be described as an intellectual wasteland!

We desperately need you back in this time segment. SPECIALLY BEFORE THE NOVEMBER ELECTION!!!

Is there an answer for this yet? Is Thom ANYWHERE in LA? Desperate for his show. And agree that the replacement for him is just junk.

You are not alone ... this problem appears to be spreading (see links below for Spokane, and for earlier Clear Channel victims such as San Francisco). There have been a few other posts in this forum and in the US Domestic Politics forum on the subject of the LA market losing access to Thom's show on AM and FM radio due to the schedule change. I'm not sure if you have seen these ... just in case you have not, I'll include links below so you can find them. These other posts contain contact information to file complaints or submit questions to the radio stations, and also mention ways people are filling in the gaps ... Livestream on the web for live video and replay, listening live on the web via an out-of-town AM or FM webcast, podcasts, etc. I hope this helps. I used to only get Thom on FSTV in my market, but now have to go to the web ... no radio, and my cable does not carry FSTV (which reminds me ... I forgot to find contact information for sending "new channel" requests).

These links in Thom's forums that were not found by the above search are listed in order of posting :

And as promised, a link to search for the posts about the Spokane market losing Thom's show :

Clear Channel has been accused in some posts of removing progressive and liberal radio shows before the November elections to help republicans. Here is a sample of posts on Clear Channel :

I caught a little of Stephanie Miller's radio show today that is simulcast on Current TV from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM eastern. On the show, Stephanie mentioned that ratings for her old time slot in San Francisco are down about 90% against Glenn Beck ... so, it appears that this move has not resulted in a ratings boost for the station, at least in her former slot. I would not be surprised to see the same type of ratings data for time slots that were previously occupied by other progressive or liberal or moderate show hosts that have been displaced by these questionable format changes.

Some posts on this general subject have suggested that some local affiliates make this this type of move to reduce production costs and increase local ad revenue. When a corporatocracy like Clear Channel does it, you can bet that they have a different goal in mind.

I miss Thom's show in LA so much. It was the most imformative program around. So sad.

It is obvious that Thom has lost his Left Coast and does not seem to mind. Wow, if one can actually broadcast from Washington, DC then what is the problem, one is then considered a Washington ‘insider’. What more could one ask for. Woohoo!

It is time to get serious about micro or Pirate radio stations. I would do it from my home in a minute if I had the bread. I would get all of the local progressive activists and give them plenty of airtime for their causes.

There would also be time for our local organic farmers and growers to let us say advertise their products and give us advice on growing our own fruits and veggies. Now that would be an accomplishment.

We also need to explore a viable means of power ….off the grid, and a way of broadcasting without outside interference. This would be the people’s emergency broadcast system. PEBS to you!

Conservatives supposedly hate freeloading. So why are they trying to legalize it?

Conservatives supposedly hate freeloaders.

So why do they support right to work laws - which literally legalize freeloading?

Our nation's nine unelected monarchs on the Supreme Court are poised to deal yet another blow to organized labor.
