Rednex-Cotton Eye Joe official video

btw, #1 in 8 countries, 15 weeks at the top in Norway

btw again, it's a Swedish group.

Top hit songs you didn't know were from Sweden lyric lines- "I threw your shit into the car and pushed you down the stairs, I don't care, I love it, I'm a 90s bitch"

Cellorock is pretty cool. I think the Beatles were the first to use strings in rock. Sgt Peppers had a few numbers with them and they fit.

Country always had fiddles, and Charlie Daniels' country rock was great. I call it Texas Swing rather than country rock. Big band swing with country and rock was an unusual mix, maybe rockabilly swing defines it too.

Ain't never had too much fun, in spite of the police state outlawing fun.

I saw an image of a deep thinking gal in a TV drama today, and her eyes told so much. For immediate attraction, blue eyes seem to be the pinnacle. Green eyes are intriguing and mysterious, pink eye is conjunctivitis, usually from confusing grammar conjunctions aka joiners , with jointers or pot, and a good buzz creates pink eyes. Too many conjunctions will lead to conjunctionitis, not pink eye.

Now the oft overlooked eye color is brown, offering penetrating depth of inner complexities, plus an under rated talent for singing sha la la la la la la la la la la la te da

A song and a dance Charleston

Josephine Baker Charleston Baker here*

itimeless Charleston

*Josephine Baker was American, but moved to France where she was revered, unlike her home where blacks were shunned and scorned. Tina Turner renounced her citizenship, as did Terry Gilliam (W's Iraq war fraud was too much) Baker got 21 gun salute in Paris upon her death in '75. She had French medals too, the highest civilians could get. I think she got a resistance award and a Legion award.

Kinda like the intro Zoe, what is it? A 12 string playing some flamenco chords?

I'm trying to place Raggae with in the R&R lexicon. I'm tempted to put Do-wob into that category but in the end have decide to place it squarely on it own when it came into the America's conscious:

Patti Smith on Rachel Corrie "She thought all people are mostly good." Israelis are psycho and envisioned this teenager standing in front of a bulldozer which was in front of a home belonging to friends that had done no harm or wrong, Israelis had to kill her because she was friends with an Arab family. That's my take on Amy Goodman's interview via Zz's link.

Because the night is a Patti tune, covered by many.

Don't be sorry Doug, that's probably that's the way it came off the top of her head. It's just a brilliant free form riff put to the beat of the street. I'm not sure I know anyone that doesn't own that album. Yep, soul comes in all flavors, and it always shines through.

Let's go back aways. I think what I miss most is cruising on the warm summer nights in the valley arm resting outside an open window with no place to go listening to Wolfman Jack after midnight live out of LA. It was the only time we could hear any soul. No Beach Boys, no Beatles, no Ventures heard then. That's when things livened up. I can still hear his gravel voice riffing while talking to callers and passing on dedications as intros for the next song.

I love doo wop and always considered it to be a part of rock & roll.

This is an assortment of the original artists doing their hits today.

This is the originals in the release time or what you remember and heard. (beware Doris Day is there too)

Why do fools fall in love ......

This Guy you've heard but maybe don't know his name btw, I am a pretty good whistler, and do so often when riding my bike or down town shopping (on my bike), people aren't used to that. wtf, I do Andy Griffith's theme and Maverick's theme.

Rs, are you referring to the San Fernando Valley? That's where I grew up. There was no such thing as "valley girls" back then, btw, and no porn industry. We boarded my horse in Canoga Park on several acres of open space, which is now all industrial and tract homes.

Doug, I used to like to whistle too. Then some guy objected, saying it wasn't feminine.

I had a boyfriend for awhile who once held me down, while he performed a long medley of TV theme songs, singing and whistling them in my ear. It was a horrific experience. Very non-consensual. You could call it Theme-song-Medley Rape. Here's Jimmy Fallon and the cast from "Guys with Kids" singing the kind of medley I'm talking about.

You've heard of Pet peeve? This was my Pet grieve, fancy that?

Great guitar and a reminder of a joke due to Jon Bonham's images. A gal I worked with told me this : A guy was asking his girl best friend not lover how to impress girls with his less than adequate package. She told him to put a potato in his pants (Bonham has russets or red bliss). He came back the next day and said "Nothing, as a matter of fact they shunned me" . She told him "The potato goes in the front of your pants".

Ugh, meant to get back to this yesterday. The day got away as they're want to do around here.

Dueling? Nah nothing like Doug, just kicking around an idea is all. Not a bad rendition of Janis though, all they would've needed was a partial fifth of Jack Daniels on stage to complete the picture.

It could be any emotion I suppose, here's a couple different kind that comes through pretty good:

Nice pick Doug, Fogerty is one of my personal favorites. Nothing like down home shit.Funny story, at least in retrospect; a bunch of us were off duty doing time out in the local bar swilling the regional rice version of American beer along with a juke box of American tunes. Okay, this is what I remember; I'm dancing with a fair looking Asian gal who was hoping for an evenings 'date', and we're bopping along to CCR playing Born on the Bayou and a fight breaks out. Now I'm fighting no one and everyone at the same time while the juke box plays on to the next selection......Looking out My Back Door.

I came out with only a broken nose. Don't ask me what the fight was about, I never did find out why the reason was myself.

Ah yes, who'll stop the rain? And how is it we can still find ourselves stuck in Lodi again?

Time for some roots music.

That was beautiful rs, I had not heard anything like that before. I had a ry cooder feed by way of a JJ Cale/Clapton/Leon set. JJ died recently and Clapton did a tribute album and interiew plus some sets of Clapton/Cale concerts.

Leon's Hall of Fame induction had a guitarist accompany Leon on piano for his We're Alone and I'm singing this song for you classic. It was recommended by another gal musician on an interview and it was as good as she said. I still don't know the guy's name.

JJ was in Leon's home studio in a great hour concert playing his personally modified guitar with 5 pickups, no back, a metal rod to change a 50 dollar accoustic into a solid electric. He was a sound engineer and monkeyed with his equipment all the time. 5 pickups and 5 amps from the single guitar and every time the sound was different cause he had an ear for it. Fascinating. I'll find the links soon.

Zevon is on my top 10 list of singer/songwriters. He was international, too. I was listening to him on an mp3 player landing in CPH (Copenhagen,Denmark) and the young Dane sitting next to me expressed her sorrow to upon his passing, "He will be missed" were her words. Muhammed's Radio was ahead of it's time, too.

https://youtu.be/bkz_hVSxJagWorld Party keeps being referred to in plural.."Their release" "They..".. for a solo artist is wierd. My new choice for national anthem, Wallinger did this but I couldn't find it, anyhow try the link that pasted in the wrong place

I think school classes should start their days with singing this song. Then instead of all that money going to books, school uniforms would be better. Not silly jackets, but vests, made of kevlar, they last so much longer.
