Well.....apparently the GOP doesn't like the Interior's new FRACKING RULES! Such a pity!

"The new rules are the federal government’s most comprehensive foray to date toward regulating the technology at the heart of the U.S. oil and gas boom, addressing worries such as potential dangers to drinking water. They also offered oil and gas supporters new room to accuse President Barack Obama of seeking to throttle fossil-fuel production, despite his repeated boasts about the nation’s booming energy supplies."

And GUESS WHO is at the forefront of action AGAINST these rules! One of my all time favorite to hate, in government>>>

"Senate Republicans, including Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, didn’t even wait for the rule to come out before filing their hostile legislation late Thursday."

I would say the frackers might not be too happy right now.

Thank you for that article. I am not surprised. I wonder when that study will take all of the data from all of the quakes across the country that have been linked to fracking and make a case of it to stop this insanity, ESPECIALLY in earthquake prone CA!!

The only relationship to fracking is that the liquids being disposed of are from fracking- it is deep waste reinjection that is associated with the micro quakes- not fracking itself.

But the deep injection of the wastes still is the principle culprit, Ellsworth said. The controversial method of hydraulic fracturing or fracking, even though that may be used in the drilling, is not physically causing the shakes, he said.

"The Saddest Thing Is This Won't Be Breaking News"

Thom plus logo As the world burns, and more and more fossil fuels are being used every day planet-wide, atmospheric carbon dioxide levels passed 416 ppm this week at the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii. In the 300,000 years since the emergence of modern humans, carbon dioxide levels have never been this high.
