There is an article on Ecowatch.com about the possible tar sands mining in Tennessee and I believe I had read about the possibility of tar sands mining permits in Utah. (I have to look back at earlier research in my files)

Anyway, I do hope you will get involved in any efforts you can to stop any tar sands mining in our country. One look at what they have done to the pristine boreal forest in Alberta Canada should be enough to make you get involved. Check out this article at the link ( I hope it works)
