Lincoln favored freeing black slaves
by deportation. He did not see blacks equals to whites. He used the slave issue only after 2 years of losing to the South.to stop the slaves s from helping the south and to gain the slaves help for the North.

Sout Carolina threatened secession in 1776

And slavery still is legal under the punishment Clause of the Thirteenth Amendment.

There were also four slave states that did not secede from the union Maryland being one of those. Robert E Lee's army of the Northern Virginia was attempting to go north to Maryland and get support of the slavers in Maryland to join his army and encircle Washington by controlling Maryland and Virginia but didn't work.

What's your point? Is it to distract from the fact that the slave state seceded to PROTECT slavery? The article http://www.history.com/topics/american-civil-war/secession is biased to minimize slavery as a cause for secession and how the Confederate Constitution protected it.

LOL! You must be bored ultrax responding to someone that quotes the history channel for a source. A person couldn't get out middle school if they depended on what they learned from that kind of tv ENTERTAINMENT (question mark about even the entertainment value).

Democratic Debates: Is It Time to Get the Corporate TV Stars off the Stage?

Thom plus logo The democratic debate, operating entirely within the context of corporate TV stars' questions and largely Republican frames, shows once again why a for-profit "news" operation shouldn't be running a presidential debate.
