Bait-and-Switch - TPP, 22 pp
re: Bait-and-Switch - TPP, 22 pp
"...While foreign investors under the TPP can sue governments in private arbitration tribunals when regulations impair their investments, citizens have no direct avenue for recourse against corporations or TPP governments that fail to uphold environmental commitments..."
That's exactly what I figured. They put all kinds of flowery language in these aggreements so the politicians can pretend they protect labor rights, environment, child labor, racism, sexual exploitation, gender equality, LGBT rights etc but all that language has no teeth and enforcement has zero funding so as usual nothing is done about those illegal actions.
The only sections with serious enforcement, legal and economic sanction are those that protect the wealth of criminal Banksters, giant, multinational corporations and the ultra-rich elites - the top 62 having more wealth than the bottom 50% of the World's population. And that is actually an understatement because they greatly undervalue the enormous real estate holdings of the ultra-rich. As well the amplification factor that comes from close-knit family cliques.
