JFK signed his death warrant with his speech on April 27, 1961:

"...If you are awaiting a finding of "clear and present danger," then I can only say that the danger has never been more clear and its presence has never been more imminent.

It requires a change in outlook, a change in tactics, a change in missions--by the government, by the people, by every businessman or labor leader, and by every newspaper. For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.

Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried, not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed. It conducts the Cold War, in short, with a war-time discipline no democracy would ever hope or wish to match...."

No honest, rational government would ever allow abdicating the right to create a nation's currency over to a bunch of worthless screwup greed-crazed parasites who produce nothing, unless they were in fear of retribution, mostly from bad press and no funding or cushy jobs & speeking engagements post-government but at the extreme, assassination.

Emanuel Josephson stated in the Rockefeller Internationalist:

"They (the Rockefellers) control most of the important newspapers, magazines, and book publishing houses in the country, including the Curtis Publications, the Hearst Publications, Time, the New York Times, the Associated Press and many others." -The Elements of Economics, by J.L. Carmichael

John Moody wrote:

"Seven men on Wall Street now control a great share of the fundamental industry and resources of the United States. Three of the seven men, J.P. Morgan, James J. Hill, George F. Baker, head of the First National Bank of New York belong to the so-called Morgan group; four of them, John D. and William Rockefeller, James Stillman, head of the National City Bank, and Jacob H. Schiff on the private banking firm of Kuhn, Loeb Company, to the so-called Standard Oil City Bank group...the central machine of capital extends its control over the United States...The process is not only economically logical; it is now practically automatic." -Secrets of the Federal Reserve, by Eustace Mullins

The Banker's Manifest, 1934:

"Capital must protect itself in every possible way, both by combination and legislation. Debts must be collected, mortgages foreclosed as rapidly as possible.

"When, through process of law, the common people lose their homes, they will become more docile and more easily governed through the strong arm of the government applied by a central power of wealth under leading financiers.

"These truths are well known among our principal men, who are now engaged in forming an imperialism to govern the world. By dividing the voter through the political party system, we can get them to expend their energies in fighting for questions of no importance.

"It is thus, by discrete action, we can secure for ourselves that which has been so well planned and so successfully accomplished."

Montagu Norman, Governor of The Bank Of England, addressing the United States Bankers' Association, NYC 1924

"The modern banking system manufactures money out of nothing. The process is perhaps the most astounding piece of sleight of hand that was ever invented ... Bankers own the earth. Take it away from them, but leave them the power to create money, and with a flick of the pen they will create enough money to buy it back again ... if you want to continue to be slaves of the bankers and pay the cost of your own slavery, then let bankers continue to create money and control credit."

Sir Josiah Stamp, Head Of The Bank of England, 1781

“It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and money system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.”

Henry Ford, founder of the Ford Motor Company.

"Permit me to issue and control the money of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws."

Mayer Amschel Rothschild, International Banker

"..The Government should create, issue, and circulate all the currency and credits needed to satisfy the spending power of the Government and the buying power of consumers. By the adoption of these principles, the taxpayers will be saved immense sums of interest. Money will cease to be master and become the servant of humanity..".

Is it not possible that the CIA ordered the hit, but that the mob carried out the hit?

In other words, it might not be either "The Mob did it" or "The CIA did it"; could be that BOTH "did it" working together, under the supervision of Alan Dulles, and his pals, plus other ex-CIA connected people, such as Guy Banister, David Feree, Clay Shaw, and the so-called "White Russians" as well.

FACT: JFK threatened to "tear the CIA into a thousand pieces"

Fact< Mob bosses in Chicago, Miami and New Orleans, (including Santos Traficante) HATED both JFK and his brother Bobby, because JFK told Bobby to "go after the mob"

FACT: Just a few days before he was murdered, JFK ordered the American troops in Vietnam to begin a withdrawal, because he had decided that he didn't want American troops dying in what he concluded was a "civil war" (NSAM # 263)

FACT: .Two days after JFK was murdered, LBJ REVERSED JFK's National Security Action Memorandum # 263..(calling for troop withdrawal from Vietnam) .and, on Nov. 24, issued a national Security Action Memorandum INCREASING the number of troops to go to Vietnam (NSAM # 273)

FACT: The route for JFK's motorcade was changed at the last minute, (by the Secret Service, I think) so he would have to drive (very slowly) past both the Texas School Book Depositary AND the "grassy knowl" (from which the fatal shot came)

Could it be that the asassination of JFK was a CONSPIRACY that included:..the CIA, the mob, the Secret Service, the Dallas Police Dept..and other agencies as well?

Every single thing I have written here (except for who was responsiible for the last minute change in the parade route) is backed up by facts contained in Peter Dale Scott's book: "The Assassinations: Dallas and Beyond"

I'm not familiar with Thom Hartmann's "JFK Theory"; but if it is that "The Mob" ALONE was responsible for the murder of JFK, then I agree with you that Thom is probably wrong.

However, if your contention is that the murder of JFK was carried out SOLELY by Alan Dulles & the CIA, then you are wrong as well.

It was "The CIA" ordering the "hit" and "The Mob" carrying out the "hit"

So it was BOTH...not one or the other.

By the way, Jim Garrison was on the right track going after indictments of Clay Shaw, Guy Banister and David Feree, (as Profesor Scott wrote in the book I referrenced above), however, he couldn't get the indictments he needed because two Republican governors, refused to extradite important witnesses that Garrisonneeded.......Gov. John Rhodes of Ohio and Gov. Ronald Reagan of California (Reagan refused to extradite Gordon Novel)

As far as JFK Assassination books by people like Vincent Bugliosi, Mark Lane and others...they are pure disinformation (Bugliosi believes in Arlen Spector's "Magic Bullet Theory")

One more interesting tidbit that connects Lee Harvey Oswald to Guy Bannister et. al. is that Guy Bannister's New Orleans office (he was a private investigator) was located at 544 Camp Street; and the flyers that Oswald was handing out in New Orleans for the "Fair Play for Cuba" had an address of 531 Lafayette Place .....right around the corner from Guy Banister's office.....

If you went through the door of Banister's office on Camp Streeet, you went up a flight of stairs and arrived at his office.......If you went through the door around the corner at 531 Lafayette Place, (the address Oswald gave as the New Orleans chapter of the "Fair Play for Cuba" went up a flight of stairs, and ALSO arrived at Guy Bannister's office.......Two different doors, two different streets, but both leading to the same office ..(Source: Peter Dale Scott: "The Assassinations: Dallas and Beyond")

When the "real" Fair Play for Cuba (FPFC) organization was asked about Oswald's claim that he was the "Secretary-Treasurer" of FPFC's New Orleans chapter, they replied that "FPFC had no New Orleans chapter."

So Oswald was the only member of the FPFC's New Orleans chapter.

Read James Douglass's book 'JFK and The Unspeakable'.. A reviewer says this:

"Douglass presents a very compelling argument that Kennedy was killed by “unspeakable” (the Trappist monk Thomas Merton’s term) forces within the U.S. national security state because of his conversion from a cold warrior into a man of peace. He argues, using a wealth of newly uncovered information, that JFK had become a major threat to the burgeoning military-industrial complex and had to be eliminated through a conspiracy planned by the CIA – “the CIA’s fingerprints are all over the crime and the events leading up to it” – not by a crazed individual, the Mafia, or disgruntled anti-Castro Cubans, though some of these may have been used in the execution of the plot.

Why and by whom? These are the key questions. If it can be shown that Kennedy did, in fact, turn emphatically away from war as a solution to political conflict; did, in fact, as he was being urged by his military and intelligence advisers to up the ante and use violence, rejected such advice and turned toward peaceful solutions, then, a motive for his elimination is established. If, furthermore, it can be clearly shown that Oswald was a dupe in a deadly game and that forces within the military/intelligence apparatus were involved with him from start to finish, then the crime is solved, not by fingering an individual who may have given the order for the murder or pulled the trigger, but by showing that the coordination of the assassination had to involve U.S. intelligence agencies, most notably the CIA . Douglass does both, providing highly detailed and intricately linked evidence based on his own research and a vast array of the best scholarship."

HAD TO INVOLVE U.S. INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES (sorry to shout, but I can't make it any clearer than this).

Also, why on earth would the mob hit the president when, since 1951 guys in Congress were doing investigations of the mafia without getting 'hit' ?

Please, the mafia had power, but not that much power. As Sam Kinnison said, "The CIA killed JFK !"

LBJ was more afraid of the CIA than the mafia. In fact he already knew the agency was running a damn "murder incorporated" in the Carribean. Which brings us to the Zapata Oil, George H. W. Bush and a certain Operation Zapata. Mob hit ? Nope.

The mob wanted its Havana money laundering site back for sure, but the CIA needed to control that situation just as it controlled Vegas via the appearance of Howard Hughes (actually Bob Maheu and the CIA). Michael Drosnin estimates the skim from Hughes' estate was 15% unaccountable--read CIA skim. Operation Jennifer etc. The estimate is toward the end of the book 'CIitizen Hughes' in a footnote.

When it wanted Vegas 'cleaned up', the CIA allowed for Indian casinos after offshore adventures like the Nugan-Hand Bank and a litany mentioned in R T Naylor's 'Hot Money'. Reagan then allowed for the Cabazon tribe's legalization of indian gaming (and its CIA connections, noted by Danny Casolaro)

The SCOTUS case

I imagine the CIA's skim continues today. But to be sure, the CIA is in control, not the amorphous "mob".

I just watched a HistoryChannel2 thing on Oswald and JFK and was surprised at the simulation of the shoot--the huge tree in 1963 Dealy Plaza isn't obstructing the shoot and they always seem to get a CIA-connected sharpshooter to do the 'simulation'.

It seems to me that Thom should do a show about the assassination and have as guests both James Douglass and Joan Mellen. The overwhelming evidence of complicity of the CIA should be heard and not brushed aside in a rush to claim 'the mob did it'.

It is know in some circles that Bush was involved as a "crew" director in Dallas at that time. We also know that bush is synonymous with big oil and banking. We know JFK was going after all the one that were placed in government by other groups other then private citizens groups. These groups have all the funds necessary to buy anyone they wanted, in the rare times they couldn't buy someone they could buy someone to kill the unbuyable patriot. Control what people are able to read and you win what people are able to think, in other words, if they can control history then they can control the future. Sadly America will go on controlled and used liked toilet paper. The ones who rule have been do so since the beginning of written time and have it down to a science. Our whole civilized world has been set up from the beginning as to what part everyone will play. They have been refining it to the point were we are nothing more then commodities to the .01%, just a money generator to keep their checking account where they want it to be. I don't believe their will be any kind of currency crash as they are to greedy to let it get to that point.

Alan, this is why I'd love to see Thom interview James Douglass, Joan Mellen, and now possibly Dr. John Newman

In his analysis of the Russian scene with Oswald on the ground, Newman made clear two important points. First, whereas most of the attention prior to this book was on embassy official Richard Snyder's interaction with Oswald, Newman revealed a man behind the scenes, peering through the curtains: John McVickar. It was this other embassy official who asked Priscilla Johnson to interview Oswald without Snyder's OK. (p. 72) What makes this interesting is the timing. Oswald had actually refused an interview with American reporter Bob Korengold. He had not been very forthcoming with Aline Mosby, the first journalist to talk to him. Then two things happened. First, the Russians communicated to Oswald that he would be allowed to stay in Russia (p. 73). Second, after McVickar gave Johnson the tip about Oswald, the defector agreed to meet her at her room. He arrived at nine at night. He stayed until well past midnight. (p. 72) What makes this interesting is that Newman reveals that Oswald's room at the Metropole Hotel was equipped with an infra-red camera for the observation of its occupants-and the CIA knew this. (p. 9) Second, Oswald found out he would be allowed to stay through a Russian official who actually visited his room.

After the long interview with Priscilla Johnson, McVickar had dinner with the reporter. Johnson, of course, worked for the conservative, and intelligence affiliated, North American News Alliance. At this dinner, somehow, some way, McVickar revealed that Oswald was going to be trained in electronics. (p. 84) Which he was.

Besides the discoveries about McVickar, Newman actually found documents that revealed that Johnson had applied to work for the CIA as early as 1952. She then worked with Cord Meyer, who helped fund the Congress for Cultural Freedom, exposed later as a CIA conduit. At the time Newman wrote the book, it was not yet revealed that the CIA did not hire her because they later deduced she could be used to do what they wanted anyway and they classified her as a "witting collaborator." (The Assassinations p. 435) The story based on this interview received little play in the media at the time, although it did announce that Oswald was a defector. But after the assassination, Johnson revised this original story-to Oswald's disadvantage-- and it received circulation through the wire services, including the front page of the Dallas Morning News. Thanks to Newman we now know that McVickar was ultimately responsible for it.

Another hidden action that was first revealed in this book was that in 1961, the CIA launched a counterintelligence program against the Fair Play for Cuba Committee, which had been formed the year before. According to the author, that effort was launched by the CIA's Office of Security, under the orders of James McCord. (p. 95) Further, this operation was done within the United States, which made it illegal for the Agency, and without the permission of the FBI. Making it even more interesting is that, as Newman first revealed, David Phillips was also part of this program. (p. 241) This program used neighbors hired as spies, and double agents posing as sympathizers, both reporting back to the CIA. (p. 241)"

What other 'witting collaborators' in the media does the CIA run ?

...the CIA's attempts to sway the U.S. media were actually far more extensive and diverse than those works from the 1970s would suggest; and, secondly, that those efforts did not end once those reporters and legislators had looked into them. Indeed, the CIA's covert use of the domestic media outlasted the Cold War itself, and is apparently continuing today."

Well, more grist for the mill. Why ignore all the CIA set-ups of Oswald PRIOR to Nov. 22, 1963, which the mob couldn't have done? Also, the Fletcher Prouty stuff (mentioned in Oliver Stone's 'JFK') re his reading about the assassination prior to, how the mob got Alan Dulles made an investigator with the Warren investigation (Dulles was fired by JFK along with the mayor of Dallas's brother Earl Cabell--Charles Cabell-- and Richard Bissell after the Bay of Pigs fiasco)...

The mob couldn't set up Oswald in Mexico City, but the CIA could....Oswald, the CIA and Mexico City by John Newman, Ph

Also, the Moscow embassy had Priscilla Johnson McMillan,

and also the source for most of the White Russian community in Dallas' anti-Oswald testimonies to the Warren Commission. The "Mob" couldn't have set this stuff up prior to November 1963 in such detail, along with the details that Ruth Paine fills in too

"In his indictment, Lane makes no mention of Oswald's associations with Guy Banister, David Ferrie and Clay Shaw—three men who were up to their eyeballs in CIA connections, or Oswald’s campaign to discredit the FPCC, or his trips to Clinton and Jackson—all of which put Oswald at the very center of intelligence intrigue. He does not note that Oswald “defected” to the Soviet Union at the very time the CIA was running a fake defector program, nor the unbelievable ease with which Oswald returned home accompanied by a Russian wife. And although she was responsible for securing Oswald the job at the Texas School Book Depository, which put him in place to take the fall for Kennedy's murder, he does not make even a passing reference to Ruth Paine, let alone to the fact that Marina Oswald was advised by the Secret Service to sever contact with Ruth because she was “sympathizing with the CIA.” (Douglass, p. 173)"

The thing that got me interested in the whole mob theory is the fact that Oswald apparently left his Manlicher-Carcano rifle and spent casings behind at the supposed scene of the crime. No self-respecting mafiosi would leave their weapons behind. This supposed 'mob hit' actually shows the hallmark sign of a CIA was a screw up !

Alex Hidell's picture
Alex Hidell 4 years 15 weeks ago

Bluedog, it seems impossible that the CIA would take orders from the mob, so your comment "Is it not possible that the CIA ordered the hit, but that the mob carried out the hit?" while the CIA most definitely could have ordered a 'mob hit', however, no self-respecting mobster would leave incriminating evidence (Manlicher-Carcano and spent shell casings) behind.

CIA code name for Bay of Pigs operation: Operation Zapata

"In their book, Ultimate Sacrifice, published in 2006, Larmar Waldron and Thom Hartmann argued that in 1963 Almeida was involved in a plot with Che Guevara to overthrow Fidel Castro. The authors wrote: "In 1963, Juan Almeida was the powerful Commander of the Cuban Army, one of the most famous heroes of the Revolution - and he was going to lead JFK's palace coup against Fidel. Commander Almeida had been in direct contact with John and Robert Kennedy's top Cuban exile aide since May of 1963, and both men would be part of Cuba's new, post-coup Provisional Government. By the morning of November 22, 1963, Almeida had even received a large cash payment authorized by the Kennedys, and the CIA had placed his family under US protection in a foreign country."

John Simkin argued that: "This seems to me like a CIA limited hangout.... This has more to do with David Talbot’s forthcoming book
(The Devil's Chessboard: Allen Dulles, the CIA, and the Rise of America's Secret Government )

than Ultimate Sacrifice. The CIA has been willing to accept the naming of CIA agents like David Sanchez Morales and Rip Robertson as being involved in the assassination. They are much more concerned with the exposure of top figures such as Richard Helms and James Jesus Angleton being involved in the cover-up."

Larry Hancock, the author of Someone Would Have Talked (2006) agreed: "I'm pretty sure we will hear more detail on how they (the CIA) were forced into this position by the additional documents that we are beginning to see."

The Cuban government took the view that this was a CIA plot to destabilize the regime and took no action against Almeida.

Juan Almeida Bosque died of a heart-attack in Havana on 11th September 2009. Fidel Castro issued a statement that said: "I didn't know, neither did any of us, just how much pain news of his passing would bring. I was a privileged witness of his exemplary conduct during more than half a century of heroic and victorious resistance."

""Further, there were too many things the anti-Castro people could not have controlled, e.g., the parade route, the taking of JFK's body from Parkland at gunpoint, the autopsy, fake Secret Service men on the grassy knoll, ad infinitum, all of which contributed to Oswald being 'a lone, demented gunman.' And certainly they could not have controlled forty plus years of 'Oswald did it' propaganda by the U.S. Government and the mainline media, propaganda that has continually ignored credible evidence of a conspiracy and Oswald's innocence. There is much more to the JFK hit than anti-Castro Cubans, and to be fair, some of which Mr. Hancock reviews within his work."" from the Thomas M. Durham book review of Larry Hancock's 'Someone Would Have Talked' at

Indeed, the devil's chessboard, and unspeakable forces within the US government. I'm waiting for David Talbot's book to come in November ! Maybe Thom will debate him on the air. Stay tuned.

Oh, PS:
