I viewed CSPAN's telecast of the Phoenix Veteran's hospital town hall meeting.....WOW! It seems that there's a cycle of disrespect and incompetence being exhibited by many of our country's hospitals that care for many of our Veteran's. We can do better.......We MUST do better. I once read somewhere that a country's moral character and respect come from its ability to care for its poor and indigent, its woman and children, its elderly, and its war veterans. We are failing in each of these categories, and concerning the veteran's, there must be a clear understanding that when we needed them, they answered. Now they need us......will we answer?

A tour in the service should eliminate the disrespect.

Agreed! However, with the military comprising less than 1% of the population, we are far from accomplishing that feat. Maybe a small amount of empathy could also go a long way towards our citizens realizing that when we go to war, there's a large military population that will require care for the rest of their lives. It's more than a support the troops sticker, or a handshake thanking a veteran for their service. The decision to go to war carries huge consequences, some very visible, others not so much. To fight a complete war also entails the proper care of the men and woman who fight it. From the proper gear, training, feeding and clothing, too the proper medical care once they either depart, or are forced out of service. Once again, will we answer, or will we break and replace.

GM Shows Why We Need Medicare for All

Thom plus logo General Motors just pulled healthcare for 50,000 workers. There are some Democratic candidates suggesting that people love their health insurance companies, but this calculated move by a giant corporation that you and I helped bail out proves that employer sponsored healthcare is just another tool to control workers.
